After having a Diabetes pump for so many years I have found that door handles and door knobs have become some of my biggest enemies. #lifeofadiabetic
I fell apart and now I'm picking up the pieces. I wish I could say I took this today but it was months ago. Damaged in so many places.. So much can go wrong and I've been careless. It's been more than diabetes burnout, it's been a complete life burnout. So much to do, so much to get done. Not enough hours in a day or days in a week. Burned out, doing so much and neglecting so much more. But here I am trying to get things back in order.
I made so many appointments today. Haven't seen my Endo since September. But now I'm finally on my way to getting my new pump along with a cgm. I've been holding out on getting a cgm til I got a new pump and I've been holding out on the pump hoping the 640g would be in the States soon... But I can't wait any longer and I won't use the new tech out of my reach as an excuse any more. I'm getting back on track and I'm starting today. #insulinaddict#lifeofadiabetic#Medtronic#insulinpump
#Chromium#Picolinate helps support healthy blood sugar levels. ❤️⠀
Chromium is an essential trace mineral that potentiates insulin action and thus influences carbohydrate, protein,
and fat metabolism. The biologically active form of chromium, sometimes called glucose tolerance factor (GTF), occurs naturally in brewer’s yeast. GTF has been
proposed to be a complex of chromium, nicotinic acid (vitamin B-3), and possibly the amino acids glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid. Although many attempts have been made to isolate or synthesize natural GTF, none have been entirely successful. Adequate chromium nutrition is
essential for the formation of GTF and subsequent control of blood glucose levels.
#onthisday 18 years ago, I started this diabetic journey (not my choice). Being a type 1 diabetic is a full time gig, and has impacted most of my major life decisions. So indulge me this year, friends. Please learn the symptoms of diabetes, listen to your body, and when the nurse goes to prick your finger, don’t let them do it anywhere but on the side where you have fewer nerve endings (trust me, I do this 6-10 times a day). #PSA#diabetes#type1#type1diabetes#bloodsugar#lifeofadiabetic#doesnthurt
Soooo I’m not giving medical advice, just sharing my experiences. I suffer from migraines and daily headaches, which some migraine sufferers can get daily headaches from it. I recently found several posts and videos of people who suffer from migraines and got the Daith piercing and it relieving their symptoms. I thought “Hey, why not give it a try! Anything would be better than popping 5 Advil twice a day! And if it doesn’t work, I’ll be left with two pretty cool piercings!” I got the piercings on Oct 29th, 2017 and after two weeks of several headaches EVERY. DAY., I’ve only had three headaches since getting pierced! (One of them was sinus related and as soon as I took musinex it was gone, so it doesn’t count! Haha) I would typically have 2-3 migraines a month, so for me, it has been a tremendous help with amazing results! Also, at least for me, the pain when getting pierced was next to nothing, and you must understand, other than tattoos, I’m a SERIOUS wimp for pain! I had no bleeding at the time of piercing so my piercer did tell me I could have blood on my pillow the next day and I did; two small drops of blood only. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! #lifeofadiabetic#medtronicdiabetes#humaloginsulin#novolog#630G#Type1Diabetes#Diabetes#Diabetic#Diabadass#InsulinDependent#DiabetesAwareness#T1DLooksLikeMe#CGM#GuardianLink#ContourNextLink#migraines#headaches
I'm 25 today, and of course had to see my birthday in with a hypo and carton of apple juice at midnight last night! It was a funny one with a lot of singing and rambling I didn't remember doing 5 minutes later. I also decided it'd be a great time to take my first hypo selfie 💁🏼 poor Ian- all he wanted to do was sleep! Suppose diabetes never takes a day off, not even on your birthday! 🎂 #halfwayto50
Happy bday to @nick_frosty_88 and @j_alexxx 🎁🍰🎂 Still can’t believe you both share the same bday. So crazy! Bring on tonight’s antics filled with laughter, food and gifts 🎁 You both deserve it!!!! Have a great day at work you two and I’ll enjoy my day at home haha 😆
I’ve never been more grateful to have an infusion site fall off a day early. As I was trying to get comfortable and into pajamas... my site just fell off my arm 😑 I shrugged it off and grabbed my supplies for a new site. As I go to grab insulin I notice my container is empty (where I keep my open/room temp insulin). Once again I shrug it off and walk to the fridge to not see a single box of insulin inside. Heart rate elevates immediately as I go into full on panic mode. My husband sees me and asks what’s wrong. I tell him as calmly as I can that I only have the insulin in my pump. It makes me realize I have about 1 days worth of insulin. Then comes the light bulb moment. I remember that my last refill was at the nearby pharmacy (I typically do mail order). So I call to see if I have any refills left. Luckily, I did and was able to get it before the pharmacy closed. Disaster Averted! 🙌🏻 #lifeofadiabetic#insulinaddict#disasteraverted#humalog#irunoninsulin#notsurehowthishappened#timetostockupagain
