On sundays, tucked in the foothills of ojai, @katesbread opens her home bakery for one hour (12-1pm). Aside from selling her insanely delicious baked goods, she’s serving some of the best pizza i’ve ever had. With honey drizzled on the crust. Need i say more? #highonojai
Sometimes I think that grief is a never-ending process, and that the harder we fight to move it forward, the more tightly it tightens its vines around our hearts—squeezing and squeezing until we’re breathless. Maybe that’s how it slows us down and makes us give it its due time. The problem with grief, I think, is that it’s so inexorably entwined with happy memories of the one we lost. We can’t have one without the other, you see. So even if the process seems cruel, maybe grief is just trying to carry us on—the ship afloat on a sea of memories we could so easily drown in.

#SelfCareSunday 🍵🧖🏻♀️💓🙏 Make sure to take time for yourself every week. For me it’s usually Sunday. Saturday is all about cleaning house, running around the city, eating out, watching movies, making snacks, staying up late. Sunday is the day to lay the mindset for the week. I love putting on a mask, maybe even a coconut hair mask, making a matcha, reading a book and just sitting still for an hour or so. ⭐️😌
Two pregnancies in two years — 36 weeks with Mabel first, and with Nora second. It’s been really hard on my body; growing, nourishing and sustaining the three of our lives simultaneously, but my heart has grown beyond words. I’m proud of my body for all it’s accomplished thus far... there was a point in my life I never thought I’d bear children. I am so grateful God had other plans ❤️ I was created to mother these girls. #twoundertwo
With Thanksgiving around the corner, I’m sharing the story of one of my family’s holiday traditions: making kolache, a dessert recipe I learned from my grandmother. You can read the story through the link in my bio.
These past few months I’ve been careful about how I’ve spent my money on apparel. Minus a couple spur of the moment purchases I’ve tried to be diligent about being a good steward of what I have. Saving for a car is not an easy thing, guys.
Pro Tip: Pinterest has some GREAT outfit inspo if your on a strict budget like me. 🙌🏼

Most kids don't make it to YoungLife Camp until high school. Eli made it at 9 months 🙌🏼(though technically he went to Crooked Creek while in the womb). 💕 E had a blast sleeping in random places around @ylclearwatercove , playing his first skit role, and being loved on by all the kids and leaders. What a joy it was to have our family of three in the heart of YoungLife community as we led music for a fall weekend trip. Though our involvement looks a little different these days, we are grateful for the chance to partner with this amazing ministry, and we know we'll be shipping high school Eli off to camp in the blink of an eye. We pray that others were as blessed by this weekend as we were! #younglife#clearwatercove#madeforthis
@kimberly.ortego - You will always be my favorite person. And making you laugh will always be my favorite thing to do. 😍
Also, I think we should move back to DFW.
I've been homesick this whole trip. 😭
And based off that smile, Jack agrees!
What do you guys think???

My boy lollipop 🍭 or candy cane, in this case.
He’s powering through and he’s improving all the time. We’re nearly at the end of the antibiotics and, unfortunately, his impetigo is still looking rather nasty. So, off to the drs again tomorrow 😣
On the plus side he is bright, happy and that nasty temperature has stayed away. Looking to book some Christmassy activities this coming week 😬
