Balance. I’ve talked about it before and will talk about it loooads of times hereafter. Why? Because it’s that BALANCE people tend to mishandle or have a problem with finding - including myself. We live in a society where they tell us to “go all in”; “do it all or not at all”; to do it “black or white”/ “night or day”/ “yin or yang”, and all I keep wondering is... why can’t we do it just enough - or “lagom” as we say in Swedish?
Maybe we are not supposed to live either “black” or “white”; maybe we should live in between, in the “grayscale”? And maybe we are not supposed to go ALL in; maybe we’re just supposed to do what’s best for ourselves in that moment. It’s not about doing it ALL (like, workout 6 times/week and eating food with low calorie intake) or NOTHING at all (like not working out at all and eating junk food). it’s about being able to live just... “enough” for the moment.
What about exercise and extra fries? They certainly sound very much alike, huh? And which one would you choose of the two of them?🤔 Let me tell you this - simply TAKE BOTH. Why don’t you go to the gym and hustle a workout and then pass by some burger place to buy yourself that burger with fries... actually, with extra fries. Cuz really, why not? THAT is BALANCE. Being able to have both parts in life; being able to treat yourself without feeling bad about yourself; and being able to treat yourself without feeling like you have failed. A balanced healthy lifestyle is what I’ve been striving for to find for years, and I’m taking small steps and getting better at finding it every single day. So next time?
