Let’s answer one of my most common DM’s
My experience with self confidence:
I used to be that person who thought I would never wear a bikini and never be athletic in any way, never be “thin” and never be “that pretty” and although I moved past that stage of my life WITHOUT making a drastic change at first, it’s not like I stayed the exact same person.
Even over the last 3 and a half years you have seen how I have changed physically and mentally. And I give credit to the fact that I became healthier.
But there were parts of my mind that changed BEFORE I started any exercise, that’s amazing and I also feel lucky that happened. •
I’ve had quite a large number of DMs recently asking me how I changed my mind about myself or how I gained confidence in myself etc and my replies are always the same. I wasn’t trying to, I reached a point where I felt like I had to accept myself the way I was because I was never going to be that skinny, attractive girl I believed I wanted to be. I don’t remember all the details or how I felt at every moment but I just had to do it. I sucked it up and made myself wear a bikini and nicer dresses because I believed I was never going to change physically. I did that for me, not everyone is going to be comfortable in the same situation because we all experience life differently, but I had to learn to make myself comfortable with it.
But the fact is that I genuinely started enjoying myself and my body more once I made healthier changes and I felt that difference. I started running for a year with no noticeable physical change to my body but it made my mind clearer and my spirit felt better. And when I did eat better and exercise differently and physical changes started happening, that “fake it till you make it” idea I had, started to change. I liked wearing bikinis and pretty dresses even more, i started to genuinely believe I looked good, I was wearing more of what I liked and I felt better about myself.
This change made me happier with myself. And I think a part of it is because i was not trying to make it happen anymore, it just did.
But that’s only my experience.

When I’ve had the shittest week on the planet and have run out of ideas to help myself, look what I stumbled across. Bikes for hire in Semaphore. I finally got to do something I’ve wanted to do for 4 years, and ride down to outer harbour, watched a cruise ship go out to sea and then rode back again. Feeling much better now 🌸🙏🏻 #goodtiming#activeliving#exerciseformentalhealth#westsidelowriders#lornajane
Just checking out my abs because why not 😀😀 Best time to go to the gym, hour and a half before closing time and you get to workout wherever you want... Best feeling.
Well, being truthful and honest, despite being into proper fitness routine from last 2.5 years and despite being a regular gym goer, I still SOMETIMES feel people shy...haha ...but thank goodness there are so many fit ladies out there who are motivating and uplifting each other.
When I started my journey with @kayla_itsines's #bbg I used to look at progress photos of new mums and all other ladies following her workouts over and over again ...like a million times and used to think that I can do it too.
Here I am today, not perfect but improving myself everyday. AND not running after perfect but progress. ☺️☺️

Today has me thinking of the beautiful country that is Ireland. The scenery is breathtaking, the music is the best you have heard and the people are the kindest in the world. St Patrick’s Day is typically spent celebrating with a Guinness or few at a pub with Irish music. Trust me there is nothing wrong this, in fact my husband is out doing exactly this in the city right now as I post. But historically, this day is celebrating St Patrick himself and how he brought Christianity to Ireland. I am a nerd and always up for a fun fact. But I seriously cannot wait to get back to this gorgeous place. Just three months to go. 🇮🇪 ☘️

I love Autumn when the leaves start changing colour. That last little bit of colour before the grey winter days set in. Also the leaves match my avo toast #priorities 😉
Fyi I am running a bit behind in the #tohercorecontentcreation challenge due to work 😒
