So on the 13th, I fainted and got a concussion. πŸ˜… Since then my symptoms have progressively gotten worse.  I started getting these sensations shooting down my neck and spine. It honestly feels like I’m on fire at all times. My body feels warmer. Finally I went in on Saturday. I still have a concussion, but they noticed I have a severe muscle spasm in my back causing this pain. The doctor said, β€œoh just get your man to massage your back with his elbow.” I joked and was like β€œso can you bring him home for deployment for that or....?” πŸ˜‚ I get my first ever massage on Wednesday. I’m really hoping this changes things for me. I’m so physically and mentally tired. I want to go to the gym and lift but I don’t want to trigger my spasms anymore, because it’s truly debilitating. Really frustrated all together. It’s affecting my performance in school with staying awake and focused. Constant push backs, but I’m still focused on my diet and soon to getting back into the gym. Here comes all the guys trying to slide into my DMs to massage me πŸ™„ don’t even try it.

How to conventional deadlift: 
1. Approach Bar having your legs hip width apart having the middle of your feet directly under the bar.
2. Bend over to grab the bar having your grip placement just outside your legs with straight arms DO NOT BEND THEM KEEP THEM STRAIGHT and do it without bending your knees
3. DO NOT MOVE THE BAR
4. Now you can Bend your knees and lower your ass until your shins are touching the bar, don’t drop your ass anymore after you shins touch the bar!!!
5. Keep your head neutral with your spine
6. Push your chest out like a gorilla which allows your back to straighten and prevent rounding of the back which would lead to injury.
7. Take a deep breath, imagine pushing your legs through the ground like a leg press but pushing the force in the middle and heels of your feet which is allowing leg drive, as the bar passes your knees push your hips forward like you are fucking the bar with a straight posture at the end. Remember to keep the bar as close to the body as possible! Don’t make it harder than it should be! Bar should only be going vertically up and down!
8. Slowly bring it down to the ground keeping tightness, and then flex off everyone in the room!!! It was hard traveling for work last week and being out of control of meal choices (and not making the best decisions when I could) and just being totally off track this weekend a gain was inevitable. Promite Sesame bagel with a babybel,  a protein shake,  and veges for breakfast!  Awesome start to the day to fuel me,  and help with recovery.

I did a cool cross-trainer workout today where I had to higher and lower the intensity for 30 minutes. It wasn't a pretty one but I got through it. I'm not running for a bit so I'm staying on the cross-trainer until my knee has 110% recovered.

I did @urban_chapster's boxercise and @better_bodies_bham's spin class. Both were good and challenging and made me feel like my old self again after the last couple of weeks.

I'm just glad I'm able to find a way to work out at the same intensity as I'm used to. I feel a lot better now.

Now for a well deserved cuppa in bed watching SAW IV before seeing Jigsaw at the weekend!

Completed my first day of the couch to 5k program today.  In case you don't know,  this program supposedly teaches you how to run 5km in just 8 weeks!  I'm a bit skeptical,  but willing to push myself.  I'd love to be able to run 5k.  So let's add it to the goal list! Today's running was intervals of 1 min jogging,  90 seconds walking.  Pretty easy for me,  but there's a big jump Next Week!  I don't just want to be thin.  I want to be strong.  I want to be fit.  I want to be working at fucking optimal levels.  To be the best human I can be.  Excited for coming days.

But not paying attention to what you're putting into your body is fat loss suicide. It’s just setting yourself up for failure.

So if you want to lose fat optimally, then you NEED to make sure you're focused on your nutrition first. This will ensure you're building (or at least maintaining) muscle, and the weight you DO lose comes almost entirely from fat.
