"Lava Lamp" - An idea I had the first time I shot those methane bubbles, years ago. I finally got to it last night!
Lit up with the awesome Lupine Blika. Focus-stacked in Photoshop.
If anybody is looking at taking their editing skills to the next level, I only have a few spots left for my "Art of Editing" one-day workshop here in Banff on January 27th. Link in bio! -

Here's a new image from May 30th, 2016 in the town of Leoti, Kansas. It was a blast of a storm chase tour with Andy, Brad, Daniel and @sarah_alsayegh and on this day we actually started in Texas I believe, made it into Colorado to jump on some decent little storms and then flew east into Kansas and got in front of a big MCS. We stopped here, let the shelf cloud roll over us and then somehow the rain never really came but we were treated to great lightning, amazing colors and textures.
I've probably said it too many times, but this is what I love about chasing. Not really being after something specific like a tornado or lightning, but just BEING there to see what happens and enjoy what you get. Every storm is different and the fun is finding the beauty in all of them.
