It's national drummers day so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my teacher and friend @dirkverbeuren for pushing me to become a better drummer every day and for keeping that flame burning to reach the top of the ladder. You rock man!!! #megadeth#whiplash#thrash#metal#drummers#tamadrumsfam
Dave Mustaine: "..it's not about volume, it's about tone.." Orchestra: "yes yes yes!"
My tone has evolved so much throughout the years, I'm positive that at this point it purely depends on serving the song, like, what does the song need. Which means I won't ever necessarily have a specific "tone" other than the actual playing style in my fingers, and then certain characteristics I think universally work well with anything I want to do such as reverb, overdrive, whatever, but other than that it's really all about the song 💯
So before I say anything many may be confused as to what this post is even about. So I think it is appropriate that I give it some proper context. @angel.of.death1986 is an account that is primarily based on polls between bands and/or albums (usually pertaining to the Big 4). He recently did a poll regarding the voting of Slayer albums from best to worst. Each day an album is voted on to be "saved". The same cycle continues until 1 album is left (the album that barely anyone voted for), that is the album that the general audience agrees to be the worst album of said band's catalogue (in this example it was pertaining to Slayer). He thought of doing one of these for Megadeth and contacted me asking if I would be interested. I figured why not, everyone knows me and the Deth plus I am always down to do collaborations with other pages to help them grow to be just as successful (if not more successful than my own). For the past 13 days we have been alternating counting the votes between the albums. Here lies the final talley between the two albums that were left. "Super Collider" vs. "Risk". Super Collider won this and rightfully so in my view. Both of these albums I consider to just be awful. However, there are two songs that I deem to be worth listening to off Super Collider. The first being the opener, "Kingmaker", (which is just a Black Sabbath Children of the Grave rip off to be honest lmao) and the second being "Dance In the Rain" which I consider to be actually a rather good song. I could actually see Dance In the Rain being on any Megadeth album from Countdown to Extinction to The World Needs a Hero (had it been recorded during that time obviously). It has that spoken word Sweating Bullets/Dread and the Fugitive Mind/ Hook In Mouth sort of vibe to it and speeds up during the second half. Both of which I feel work to its benefit. This song ALONE imo is better than any song off "Risk". So I am happy to say that for round 14 "Super Collider" is the last album saved...meaning "Risk" has officially been voted the WORST album in the entire Megadeth catalogue.

"I'll be walking up streams
For how long I can't recall
It seems like I never
Would run of bad luck
I never thought that I would get these thoughts
And the sands are running low
I would get dazed to kill my haze
And now there's no return
It starts to feel like I'm lost
In this confusion
I tried so hard but I know now
That I can't get out
That I can't get out
All my thoughts were trapped
In downward spirals
Shutting off my feelings
And now they're gone forever"
