🦄As much as I talk about calorie counting, I honestly believe the ultimate form of "diet mastery" is a more intuitive approach. Being able to, above all else, listen to your body and know what/how much you need simply based on the cues your body is giving you.
🍕However, the reason I talk about calorie counting so much is because intuitive eating is a skill. It's an advanced form of dieting that takes A LOT of time and effort and patience and consistency to develop. And just like you don't learn to deadlift by doing deficit deadlifts vs bands...you don't learn to lose body fat and keep it off by jumping into the most advanced progression. Because unless you're already very lean and look the way you can want to look...your current "intuitive" is not yet what it needs to be for long-term success.
🌵That's why, when you start dieting, you need to go through the mastery process. First gain the knowledge. Second develop the skills. And, third, fine tune the "tricks of the trade" to make everything come together.
☕️Remember, flexible dieting is a skill. Intuitive eating is only intuitive once you've taken the time to make it intuitive. You don't need to count calories forever. But if you want to get to a point where you don't have to...mastering the skill, first, will help you get their faster.

Every Sunday is HIIT cardio to get a kick start on boosting our metabolism and burning unwanted fat for the week! It’s hard to believe but it is true that HIIT cardio does speed the process of muscle building and recovery. I have built my legs bigger because of the HIIT cardio that I take serious once a week. -

No, actually strength exercises are your allies when you are looking to lose fat because in the #muscle cells is where lipolysis (fat oxidation) occurs. When you do strength exercises, lifting weights or calisthenics (with your own body) you make these cells work better. Also with these types of exercises you accelerate your #metabolism and burn more #calories in the day even when you are at rest. There is still the myth that by doing weights or crunches before losing weight the fat hardens, this is very far from the truth, the fat will not get hard and stay in your body. Snatch progression session with @t_snelling at Grit. I personally find the snatch really difficult, however I am seeing some improvements in my form.
As far as building #muscle and #losingfat goes, there’s a pretty stark difference between #Olympic#weightlifters and #powerlifters . Because the move requires so much speed and #energy expenditure, the #snatch can seriously jack up the #metabolism and burn a lot of fat.
Because it uses so many large muscle groups, it’s an efficient exercise for providing a full-body strength #workout . That means it can provide stimulus for hypertrophy, too. The hypertrophy component is a little dependent on training styles, but even weightlifters who train in the lowest of reps have serious slabs of muscle on their back and legs.

🎿Carb cycling. Calorie Cycling. Bicycling Motorcycling.
~ 🏍You have probably heard of most of these at some point in your fitness journey (Motorcycling was both new and scary for me), and you just might be confused on what the all mean, let alone if you should do them.
~ 〽️The first part of the graph is carbs/cals being evenly spread over each day of the week. This more than like the most common nutrition strategy.
🔍The next is alternating days, where there are days of highER calories, and days or lowER calories.
🛋Last but not least, there is a strategy of having a couple days in succession together of higher (preferred by most to be the weekend), with more “deficit days” after the weekend.
⌨️As Jodran noted - All of these different strategies add up to the same total weekly calories consumed. As we know, Caloric total isn’t everything, so the Macros would have to match up at the end of the week as well.
~ 🤼♂️When calories get significantly low, when wanting to compete in a show, I have been knowing to bundle up food (carbs especially) into 1 or 2 days per week, where the client gets to feel a bit more “human” on these days, instead of just small amounts of carbs/food per day, with none of the days of the week REALLY giving them a normal feeling.
~ 🥊As for refeeds? Cheat Days? Cheat Meals? Calorie Spikes?
🍡Thats a topic for another day, and maybe if there is enough interest, you might just see that as next week’s blog topic…😏
📏would start out with all days the same macros, if you’re brand new to dieting. This, along with a great coach, will teach you about foods, what they are, and how they work.
📊Then, if timing and effort permits, you can try to do a bit more “shuffling” of your carbs/cals, for a little bit more boost of energy on days you’d like to have more, such as a hockey game, fun day at the beach, or anything requiring more “zip” from you.
📈Conversely, if you like to socialize, and can still follow a plan, the “saving the food” for the weekends could work quite well for you, as long as you’re willing to push a bit more during your “deficit days” ~ ❓Which method do you prefer?

The fire within, called Tejas in Sanskrit, is the same fire in the Ayurvedic dosha Pitta. A person with strong Pitta has that inner drive to propel them forward toward their goals.
No matter which dominant dosha type you have, you can harness the power of Manipura to assert your will in a healthy way and achieve any goal you set out to accomplish.
If you find you are stuck with a decision or are at a crossroads and aren’t sure which way to go, look to a gut feeling in your solar plexus for guidance:
1. Close your eyes, place your hand over the area slightly above your belly button.
2. Bring to mind the problem or dilemma.
3. Notice how your third chakra feels when you give it choices regarding the subject you’re struggling with. A sinking or nauseated feeling may tell you that the decision is wrong.
4. If you present your solar plexus with the right choice, you may feel lightness in the area or you may even feel like you can breathe easier.' -by Michelle Fondin

💚💚💚Green Tea Ice Cream Recipe (Matcha Ice Cream)💚💚💚
2 cups Half & Half (480 ml) (or 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk + 1 cup (240 ml) heavy (whipping) cream (butterfat 36-38%), See Notes)
3 Tbsp Organion matcha green tea powder (3 Tbsp = 18 g)
½ cup granulated sugar (½ cup = about 100 g)
Pinch Kosher salt (about 1/16 tsp)
Freeze the ice cream bowl for 24 hours.
Gather all the ingredients.
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the half and half, sugar and salt.
Start cooking the mixture over medium heat, and add green tea powder. Stir often and cook until the mixture starts to foam and is very hot to the touch but not boiling.
Remove from the heat and transfer the mixture to a bowl sitting in an ice bath. When the mixture is cool, cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
Once the mixture is thoroughly chilled, transfer to a pre-chilled ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacture's instructions (20-25 minutes). Transfer the soft ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 3 hours before serving.
