It's CERVANTINO SEASON! Actually it's been here for over a week now but I've been too busy to share. For those who don't know, Festival Internacional Cervantino is an annual culture festival held here in Guanajuato. It's 3 weeks of world music, dance, theater and literature events, and the most important cultural festival Latin America (and one of only 4 of its kind in the world). What this means for me 1. I'm pushing through crowds and yelling "Muévete, güey!" at the HOUNDS of tourists/partying kids crowding the streets I take to work (like, seriously Disneyland crowded) and 2. I get to go to all these free events!! I've seen Slovakian folkloric dance, an amazing Colombian music group (anyone a Sistema Solar fan??), and tonight was La Revolución Cubana: verso y canción, which was the best yet (check stories). I'm looking forward to Hungarian gypsy band and a freaking KORA musician. It is so much fun ❤❤❤ My friends who are in town asked me the other day while we were walking home after a perfect night, "Do you still remember that you live in a magical place?" And I looked up, at all of it, and said, yes.
