Uhhhhohhh. Sorry posterior tibialis. This girl found a new obsession. Enter peroneus longus. And this is why...we need our big toe to dorsiflex. Extend up. Look at the insertion. ❤️. It is a primary stabilizer of the first ray. It plantarflexes and laterally compresses the first met. Big deal? Yes. Needed for stability with push off. Dysfunction here...We have instability at the big toe and over utilization of this muscle. This patient is running a 50k with 25k feet of elevation gain in Colorado. #aintnobodygottimeforthat . Dry needle to the peroneal group. Create inflammation to cause inflammation. And then tape that up. Drive it home. #healingfast#rocktape#strengthenthefoot . #foot#genuvalgus#dry#dryneedling#kinetacore#chiropractor

This past week the communities of Ngolahun, Majoe, Pejewa, Yandohun, Maloma and Kigbai have been celebrating the graduation of the NOW participants. This picture-based financial literacy program has inspired women to use their voice, to dream and work towards their goals, to save and also to have fun! These graduations have seen fantastic turnout from the communities, showing how far they have come in recognising the importance of empowering women. Here are some attendees in the community of Majoe. #sustainable#communityled#sustainabledevelopment#sierraleone#kailahun#mobilization#community#women#womensempowerment

Many times with #Pilates , it is the smallest of movements, #engagement , #stabilization or #mobilization that creates the #magic in a pattern💕 #Mermaid is a perfect example of this. Throughout this sequence, notice the small variations that are shown. A) The first three - remember to keep the #pelvis quiet, sitz #bones to the #earth . Enjoy the lateral #flexion of the #spine and allow more each time. Go slow! B) The third pattern, pelvis quiet and add #rotation of #thoracic or #ribs . Yummy!!!! C) Add a lift of the one sitz bone from the earth while you rotate but no flexion. D) Add a higher lift with more #stretch and then lateral flexion to the opposite side. E) Add a bow down to the floor with a narrow #pushup - activating those #triceps , add a single arm narrow stance pushup for a touch more #intensity . Finish with a lateral flexion to both sides. I like to repeat 5 of each pattern before progressing to the next. Slow and purposeful. Stay on pushups as long as you wish. The closer you pull the arm in towards your side and towards you body (tuck your elbow in) the more you will isolate and weight bare on the tricep ❤️💕 Enjoy.
Chiropractic is amazing because it will not only get you out of pain but fix the problem so you stay better for a long time! Mention Instagram for a FREE consultation!
I'm getting in between each shoulder blade and my spine. Barrel roll from the straight position to the side, keeping my arms hugged to expose the tissues under the shoulder blades. Move around on the roller to get it into the zone between shoulder blade and spine. Roll up and down, from the top of the blade near the traps, down to the bottom near the lats and mid ribcage. When I hit a bump in the road, or a nice painful hot spot, I get in and dig out that gold. Using my feet to push back and forth, move my hips to tilt up or down, whatever it takes to search out and destroy that mess of tissue knotting. Just like with quad smashing (see some of the previous grams for example), I create the pressure wave by rocking side to side, and usually I lock out my elbow and move my arm around while on the hot spot (didn't do it in this example, but I will next time). Lots of breathing, lots of facing demons.

Crawling: One of the most natural and basic human movements. It's is an integral part of how we develop as babies! 👶🏽
How to do it: Start with hands and knees on the ground, and find a neutral ("flat") alignment of your back, shown here. Knees beneath your hips, hands beneath your shoulders, minimal arching or rounding of the lower back. Engage your core as though your about to get punched in the belly 🤔. Lift the knees about 2 inches from the ground. Add a shoe, book, water bottle, ball... anything to hold still on your back. Crawl! 😜
When: Great addition to your warm-up for any workout or to start your day 💁🏽. 10 Yards forward, backward and sideways. -------------------------------------
Why: Can help to improve stability/strength through the shoulders, spine, "core" 🙄, and hips. Great way to incorporate breathing drills into a low intensity exercise (refer to earlier vid). Reinforces proper form/mechanics that are used in various exercises and everyday movment. AND it's just good for you! Want to move better? ...go back to moving like babies 👶🏽👶🏽👶🏽
Thanks @joey_scharf for an amazing demonstration! (even though you had no idea you were demonstrating 😎)
All of the strength and mobility work I've been doing to train middle splits has my hips feeling a little cranky. 😖 So, I thought, why not give this intense and VERY humbling stretch created by Dr. Kelly Starrett? It's called the Couch Stretch (although I am clearly not using a couch in this example). The purpose is to mobilize your leg so that you can concentrate on getting a deep stretch in the front of the hip. Definitely not a stretch for the weary, or for those with a low pain threshold. This should only be performed when the body is very warm. It is brutal. 🔥
Frantz Fanon died a few months before Algeria’s independence in July 1962. He did not live to see his adoptive country becoming free from French colonial domination, something he believed had become inevitable. He made a great devotion to the Algerian National liberation and was a prism, through which many revolutionaries abroad understood Algeria and one of the reasons the country became synonymous with many Liberation Movements.
With the weight of its recent past and in particular its long struggle for independence that served as a model for several liberation fronts across the globe and given its assertive diplomacy and audacious foreign policy in the 60s and 70s, the Algerian capital was to become a Mecca for all revolutionaries. As Amilcar Cabral announced at a press conference at the margins of the first Pan-African Festival held in Algiers on 1969: “Pick a pen and take note: the Muslims make the pilgrimage to Mecca, the Christians to the Vatican and the national liberation movements to Algiers!” Fanon would have been surely proud of that moment of Algeria’s and Africa’s history. The festival was impregnated with a revolutionary fervour and with his ideas around a combative culture that is fuelled by people’s daily struggles.
Leaders like António Agostinho Neto and Amilcar Cabral saw culture at the heart of their concerns because they associated it with liberation which they theorised as a form of political action. They strongly echo Fanon’s words in The Wretched of the Earth: ·
“A national culture is not a folklore, nor an abstract populism that believes it can discover the people’s true nature. It is not made up of the inert dregs of gratuitous actions, that is to say actions which are less and less attached to the ever-present reality of the people….It is around the people’s struggles that African-Negro culture takes on substance and not around songs, poems or folklore.” - Frantz Fanon Happy EarthDay Strong Comrade!!! #PanAfricanism#AfricanUnification#Organization#Mobilization#SelfDetermination#SelfReliance#BlackLove#BlackEconomics#CommonCurrency#FrantzFanon#AmilcarCabral#Algeria#FreedomFighter#Revolutionary#AlutaContinua
When you hear the word "mobilization", thoughts of the massing of arms and soldiers drilling might come to mind. In fact, mobilization at the American Civil War Museum's Tredegar campus started this week, signaling the beginning of the construction of the new Museum building, the culminating project of the consolidation of the American Civil War Center and the Museum of the Confederacy.
In a true partnership with our @richmond.nps colleagues, we moved a 12 lb Howitzer field gun, produced at Tredegar, to ensure visitor education will continue unimpeded throughout the duration of the construction project. I wondered as the team rolled the cannon past the Lincoln Statue how many cannon did President Lincoln witness roll past during the mobilization of union troops.

Amilcar Cabral once said, "I remember that when I was in Cuba, Fidel told me that Cuba is also Afrika," he told a group of Cuban Comrades in August 1966. "I don’t believe there is life after death, but if there is, we can be sure that the souls of our forefathers who were taken away to America to be slaves are rejoicing today to see their children reunited and working together to help us be independent and free." Thirty years later, other PAIGC leaders echoed his words. "We greatly admired the struggle of our Cuban brothers. The Cubans were very significant because we knew that they, more than anyone else, were the champions of internationalism," one recalled. "Cuba made no demands, it gave us unconditional aid," said another.
It was the Soviet bloc whose help was decisive. It provided arms, educational opportunities, and other material and political support. The Soviet Union was, by far, the major source of weapons. Cuba, too, gave material help, in the form of supplies, military training in Cuba, and scholarships. This was a considerable and generous effort. But Cuba did much more, and its role was unique. Only Cubans fought in Guinea Bissau alongside the guerrilla fighters of the PAIGC…
Luis Cabral (Amilcar’s brother) later stated: "We were able to fight and triumph because other countries and people helped us… with weapons, with medicine, with supplies… But there is one nation that in addition to material, political, and diplomatic support, even sent its children to fight by our side, to shed their blood in our land alongside that of the best children of our country. This great people, this heroic people, we all know that is the heroic people of Cuba; the Cuba of Fidel Castro; the Cuba of the Sierra Maestra, the Cuba of Moncada… Cuba sent its best sons here to help us in the technical aspects of our war, to help us wage this great struggle against Portuguese colonialism." #PanAfricanism#AfricanUnification#Organization#Mobilization#SelfDetermination#SelfReliance#BlackLove#CommonCurrency#FidelCastro#VivaFidel#VivaCuba#AmilcarCabral#LuisCabral#Cabralista#PAIGC#FreedomFighter#Revolutionary#VivaLaRevolucion#AlutaContinua
