I’m really trying to tune into my body more and practice more restorative exercise. For too long, I’ve been punishing my body with exercise rather than embracing its strength and beauty. I’ve decided to tone back on my workouts. Right now, I’m doing strength training 3 times a week and restorative exercise on the days in between — this could be yoga, long walks, rebounding, an infrared sauna, etc. It’s not easy for someone who’s used to exercising it and killing it 6-7 days per week. But at 40, my body says, “enough is enough, girl. Time to slow it down!” ❤️

• 3 oz Extra Lean Ham. • 25g Thinly sliced Orange Pepper
• 1 Tbsp (15g) Spicy Hummus
• 1 oz. Baby Swiss Cheese.
• Spread the humus on the pita bread and layer with the rest of the ingredients. Broil on high for 2-3 min or until cheese is melted. 🤤

Today, as I think back on the day I decided to sign my name on the "dotted line" and become an online health and fitness coach, I'm super thankful 🙏🏽 I pushed through my doubts, my self limiting beliefs, and negative chatter that "who the hell am I?", all in the name of joining the mission to end the trend of obesity and help people find a solution that makes them feel better and BE better.

It wasn't easy.. it STILL isn't easy. I still have doubts about myself and my "mean girl" shows up often, but I remain thankful.

To the friends, followers, clients, coaches on my team and family, thank you! I would've quit a long time ago (or never started) without your belief in my ability to succeed 😘

Now back to work!! I've got lives to impact 😍❤️

I was so depressed all the time, unsure of myself....lacked self confidence and self esteem..I was a total stress case! I convinced myself that I loved myself but I knew damn well inside that I did NOT. I was NOT happy with how far I let myself go and didn't know how to get myself out of the mess or know where to start! 🙄
I started this journey to change my body but what I got was so much more important. ❤️

Strong and "toned" Arms is something I have never had 😬. Never in high school, didn't like lifting in college either 🤷🏼‍♀️. I never wanted to look to "buff" or manly! But that is the farthest thing that has happened to me since I started lifting with weights and just my body weight.  The program I am doing now doesn't incorporate hand weights but boy do I have to lift my body with push ups 💪🏻 I have never been good at push ups. 🙅🏼But I kept working and working at it! This was a goal of mine ✔️Now when I have to do different positioned push ups I can ACTUALLY do them!!! 💃🏼 Whattt!?!?!? We were together this morning and our kids rocked it. The wind had a different idea but we pushed through. Every time we ran to the top of that hill we were treated with the stunning beauty of the Sandias and those clouds just smacked us in the face with their magnitude. Somedays you just have to give life and high five and today was one of those days.

Missed my live workout this AM, had a hard time getting out of bed with the whole family cuddled around me.. 🙄 But eventually I got up and knocked Day 8 out! Had to get cleaned up and ready right afterwards to get Dawson to her 4 month check up! Now time to sit down and check in with my current challengers and coaches before going on a walk and enjoying the gorgeous weather today! ☀️

& just like that, the weekend is over and my baby girl is no longer attached to me. Don’t get me wrong - I enjoy my independence and time away (if you don’t have a toddler and you think that’s mean, then wait until you have one and I’ll laugh at you). Having an outlet through my workouts and clean eating has been a huge eye opener for me because now I KNOW that I’m someone who needs something just for ME. It’s not selfish, it’s mental health! When she comes home, though, I’m all about those big SG hugs and kisses. You guys, she’s really good at snuggling. Stay at home moms, working moms, dads who are proxy moms, you all da bomb. This gig is hard but they’re worth it huh?

Today is my 4 month anniversary of weight training at the gym.🙌It takes so much time and discipline to gain one inch of muscle,so to say that you don't want to get bulky from weight training is like saying you don't want to become an F1 racer from driving.🙄 A few things that i stuck to during the past 4 months:
✅80%of the time I eat healthy, homemade meals. 20% of the time like Saturday nights and Sunday mornings I eat out and indulge.
✅3-5days of high intensity weight training a week. 40mins each session. 。
。most importantly, be patient, enjoy the workout and your food❤

Bench! Bench! Bench! 130 for some paused doubles and reverse banded bench at 145. It felt so good to have that weight in my hands, even though the bench moved from my leg drive, I hit the rack on the first set, and I double paused the reverse banded set on the way up. 💁 Now I just need to add 30# and PR when it counts. 😉

Another PR today! 🙌🎉🙌
November 3, 2016 I did a PR of a 1 rep Max Overhead Squat at 125 pounds. My form is sloppy, my feet are wide and my armpits weren't facing forward, also HAD to use the belt.
Today did 130 pounds for 3 reps and 135 for 2 reps. Good, clean, solid reps.
No belt. 
Sure the numbers are awesome but I also love seeing my form, technique and strength grow.

I used to think I had such a strong core, I mean I could do like a million sit ups! 😉 but two pregnancies later and my core just didn't work the same way. I've had to really work to rebuild that strength.

I hear of so many back injuries that likely could have been prevented by a strong core. One thing I LOVE about @crossfitsyndicate Is that they're so purposeful about programming core work to prevent those injuries and keep athletes safe and strong!!

Adding something as simple as a timed plank hold while you're watching TV or waiting for dinner to cook will REALLY make a difference over time. Increase time weekly. Or mix things up with L sits or hollow body holds/rocks and super man holds! This kind of thing is EASILY done at home with zero equipment.

And remember your core is more than just abs..... think back, and glutes too! And working on it is more than just crunches!

Her message in a nutshell is, "Take care of yourself first. You can't pour from an empty cup", which just pumped me up for my new adventure with becoming an instructor starting next month! I can't wait to pass on the love and motivation to others by teaching live Insanity classes! 😁

Basically, my life is freaking awesome and continues to improve every day since I made one tiny little decision to get up one day and FULLY commit to a Beachbody program. I am so thankful I jumped at the opportunity of becoming a Beachbody coach... it's opened up more doors for me than I could've ever imagined 💖

#transformationtuesday I wish I was standing in the same position to make it more true, but I'm not, so here it is lol. My 🍑 has always been an insecurity for me. I have always wished I had a booty and you best believe I'm the creep in the gym staring 👀. Now that I know how to get my glutes firing, I'm noticing a difference and my flat 🥞 is starting to grow! There's a year and 4 months between these pics. It's not a huge difference, but I actually only found out a couple months ago that my glutes weren't firing. I have always wished I had a booty and you best believe I'm the creep in the gym staring 👀. Now that I know how to get my glutes firing, I'm noticing a difference and my flat 🥞 is starting to grow!
