The bulk of the tree was cut away from the fence but pieces like this had grown into the wire and were left oddly suspended. This is at my old elementary school, South Park, in Victoria. #quirky#stuck#natureisstrong
I made an impulse decision while sitting in the library today @3:30pm to drive to the gorge and take a look at the parts of the old highway that opened up in the last week after the fire in September. I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. I did see a burnt section along the old highway, but for most of the section of road from angel’s rest trailhead to crown point still looks basically the same! I know it probably looks a whole lot worse up the highway more, but the road was closed at angel’s rest and definitely looked worse looking up the closed section of the highway. I was filled with Joy to see the section of the gorge I was able to today after the heartbreaking news in September that the fire was ripping through the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Latourell Falls is untouched, Bridal Veil trail looked open, but angel’s rest trail is closed and looked burnt 😢There was also snow on the top peaks of the gorge, which was beautiful 😍🌲🏞#columbiarivergorge#postfire#crownpoint#stillbeautiful#itwillgrowback#natureisstrong#oregon#sunset#opamistic
Walking the Mont-Saint-Michel at dusk, a deserted street labyrinth .. The impression of being in another world, another century, among the giants of stone .. See a large tide rise in the night, to stick to the rocks, to the ramparts, encircle us ... to the door .. leaving us speechless in front of the laws of nature .. Remain more than wait an hour that nature releases us...
VOLUME UP TO HEAR THE WIND. At 5am we we're woken up by what sounded like a train outside, but is actually Typhoon Lan blowing through. This was recorded from my balcony window. DO NOT GO OUTSIDE IN A TYPHOON. I WAS NOT OUTSIDE. You can see the shadows of the tree branches on the white building getting whipped around. It's eeriely silent, and it smells like the ocean. Very warm suddenly and the wind comes in gusts very much like ocean waves crashing on shore. #typhoonlan#arakawaku#traveltokyo#staysafe#natureisstrong
