Saturation III by Brockhampton Review
Overall Rating :A+
The first time I heard Brockhampton I didn’t know what to expect, but that’s exactly what they want, you must enter a Brockhampton with no expectations, and leave with those expectations exceeded. Brockhampton’s Saturation Trilogy is a perfect example of those jaw-dropping and astounding musical moments that push the boundaries of what hip hop is supposed to sound like. Brockhampton have managed to stay completely separate from their contemporaries and have created a sonic collage that pays homage to their musical influences while staying completely original and unique at the same time. The 3rd installment of the Saturation III is the most complex, intricate, and perfectly crafted Saturation, with the makings of a classic album. It is artistic creativity at its peak, before Saturation III I did not know it was possible to release 3 masterpieces in span of 7 months with each album being a significant improvement upon the last one.
Saturation III is not only the best Saturation, it is perfection. It is as if they were able to see every miniscule imperfection of their nearly perfect previous albums and perfect it within one album. The album begins with the ravaging, dancy, and adrenaline pumping ‘BOOGIE’. I can compare this song to the scene in Pulp Fiction which Mia Wallace has to be revived from her overdose with an adrenaline shot and I can also see it being played in the background of the final killing spree scene of Kill Bill Vol.1, to be completely honest ‘BOOGIE’ could soundtrack a gorey grindhouse film. We are treated to the very animated, bouncy, and villainous ‘ZIPPER’ that reminds me of an old early to mid 2000s cartoon, and I love it, it’s the most fun I have had listening to a song in a long time, and did I mention how each member rides the beat like they were fucking it. The 3rd Track; ‘JOHNNY’, has one of the smoothest drops goes into this groovy, jazzy, rolling beat accompanied by some of the group’s most personal verses, especially Matt and Joba’s, and that hook is a slapper. Kevin Abstract continues to outdo himself as the reigning king of hooks.

I wish the film industry would stop shitting on my childhood. I tattooed Ferdinand on my shin over 4 years ago. It was one of my favorite kids' books. He was a peaceful bull that just wanted to spend his days in the meadow smelling flowers. The only one I have left untouched, out of 6 others, is Pinky, from "Pinky and the Brain." It will probably destroyed too.
