A little fun with the youth of the foundation. During brunch, we discussed a number of things including politics and race.
The foundation has 33 members between the ages of 18 and 24. Your donations will help provide the necessary vocational training and education to create employment in Rural Uganda.

As you may remember we rescued 3 month old Pepper from the shelter with pneumonia. Over the past week he's been looking better, but took a nosedive today.
Thanks to @gentlecareah He was seen right away today. His liver values are up and white blood cells are high as well. He is being started on antibiotics and liver support medicine. Next up...an ultrasound.
Please keep Pepper in your thoughts.

This month I had the honor and privilege of being permitted to donate my time and talent as a photographer for the Miami based @marcjaiden project’s mission trip to Nicaragua. They provide vision care to communities in need in the USA, Haiti, Jamaica and Nicaragua. Their goal is to restore eyesight, provide eyewear and prevent vision loss to those who don’t have the financial means to afford it or don’t have access to proper eye care facilities. I went with a team of 14 talented and dedicated eye care specialists – doctor, nurses and support staff - to two towns in Nicaragua. We flew into Managua and from there in the next three days we went to Rivas and Nadaime. We examined and helped approx. 1,600 people, young and old. I included a slide show of some of the grateful eyeglass recipients. #marcjaiden#nicaragua @dereklattaphotography. . . . . . . . . .

"Once a large ball of mussels that cleaned the water by filtering it all along the shore, this cluster has now become a phragmites root ball. This invasive plant burdens the water body with nutrients from the plant wrack that drops into the sea from the dead phragmites stalks called wrack. The mussels are gone so there is no cleansing mechanism. This is a major component of global warming as the excess plant pollution causes hydrogen sulfide and methane to be released as it decays which are more potent gases than carbon dioxide. You can see here the bubbly froth in the water. That is algae forming on the surface which releases neurotoxins into the water when the nutrient levels reach a certain amount. This is a killing mechanism of the sea to kill aquatic wildlife that overpopulates from the excess plankton growing in the nutrient rich water. Algal blooms make the water toxic to humans and terrestrial animals as well."
