@pomelokitchenandbar dumplings and soft shell crab. Absolutely fantastic. Not sure why I took so long to get there, will be back. The spiced pear dessert was also fantastic but I dropped my phone in the custard so no picture for y’all
Drove down to Rotorua on Saturday, and found this cool little spot, there’s nothing better then getting away, and seeing a sight like this. With someone who means the world to you. 💚 #nz#rotorua#bluelake#scenery#beautiful
Kid dinner. Keeping it simple.
Chicken coated in s&p, gf flour then fried in coconut oil then baked for 15min. Fried asparagus.
My kids have dinner as soon as they get home from kindy, this stops them filling up on snacks before dinner.
Dessert is a meal at 6pm which usually consists of banana based smoothies (spinach, oats etc) or frozen berries and avocado etc.
BEFORE ROOM 3
Let's start with room 3 because it is the smallest of the 5. This would have been the kitchen 110 years ago, you can see the original "fridge" ... a hole in the wall left of the window. The fridge or 'safe' is a box that sits outside the house, it has wire instead of walls on the side to allow air in to keep food. Although it was retained by the previous owner as a feature it meant the room was freezing, windy and wet so we removed it along with the serving hatch. This room strangely had 2 of the 4 walls gibbed at some point unlike any other rooms, we ended up removing it and replacing with new 13mm gib for better insulation.
