One of the most important things I’ve learned to do is ask for (and be open to) help.. you don’t have to go at this whole life thing alone and honestly, if you can learn to get out of your own way, you’ll notice that EVERYONE has something they can teach you. 📸: @diabeticyogini
It can be difficult for us “makers of things” to fully enjoy the holidays with the pressures of selling our work. The long days of shipping orders, sending off beloved originals, and the perpetual task of treading water in bottomless administrative tasks, have been wearing me thin. But I think we’ve all been worn thin by the new norm for the holidays. Not long ago, Christmas was softly falling snow and twinkling lights, quiet music and candy canes. Reverence and reflection. Being present and gathering with others. Now it’s buying things and selling things and consuming things that don’t mean that much. I hope that I make things that mean something, because they come from my heart. But I’m still part of that cycle, and it disturbs me a bit. But I’m just trying to bring some beauty to the moments when we’re not outside, to those moments when reality slaps us hard in the face or tells us to make difficult choices. Because that’s what artwork does, it takes us to another place. ✨ So because it’s my job, I of course hope you’ll find something in my online shop for your loved ones. But I hope your gifts this year also include hugs and long walks together, home cooked meals and kind gestures. A hand to hold, heartfelt thanks, laughter, and quality time. Because these stay lovely memories forever and the piles of stuff we buy each other don’t mean anything.✨ It means a lot that my work is a part of your lives, and the gratitude I feel towards all of you is insurmountable! Thanks for keeping me so busy, and always for the kind words.✨ I just put the finishing touches on “A-Frame Aplenglow” last night!! I have a handful of prints available on my website, and the 12x16” original is SOLD and heading off to its new home tomorrow!!✨This whimsical scene is of the Tagert Aspen hut in Colorado and its my new favorite painting!! Happy weekend and happy holidays! ❄️ Photo by @kate.siberell 💙 #rachelpohlart
Have spent the last week out in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with the always rad @springhillsuites crew, snowmobiling and exploring some of the backcountry of The Grand Tetons!
It would be an understatement to say it wasn’t one of the highlights of my year. Great times with great people, in a great place. Yeah, that about sums it up.
Lots more come as I work through all of the photos I took along the way!

@mark.colllins training at home along the coast. It’s nearly impossible to keep up with him over this kind of technical terrain, taking a photo is a good excuse for a break.
