Woke up to news that beautiful Barcelona was attacked today in an area I was just walking through 2 weeks ago💔. I can't even imagine being there now and seeing all of this tragedy in person. Way too much awful hatred going on in our world today from Charlottesville to Barcelona 😥. My memories I'm sharing with you here are full of happiness and appreciation for the beauty our world has to offer. I wish and pray that everyone could see that and find peace in their hearts to not commit such atrocities. My heart hurts but I will forever be grateful for my travel experiences. Praying for Barcelona 🙏🏽. Video is from a restaurant right above Las Ramblas and Plaça Catalunya where it all happened. Love is the answer!
Parenthood is full of milestones: first words, first steps … potty training! You anxiously await these moments. They're precious. But it's the unexpected milestones that are the sweetest.
This morning, Ethan and I went to the playground before school. I cherished those 15 minutes playing before we got on the bus to school, and will make this part of our morning routine. We chased pigeons and played with his Japanese high-speed train in the dirt, making "the longest track in the whole wide world." These are beautiful, unexpected moments.
He's transitioning to school for the first time and it's challenging, especially in a new country. There have been tears and screams of "I don't want to go to school," but Ethan is a brave boy. We couldn't be more proud of him as he nears the end of his second week. We talk on the bus to school and I always ask him how he's feeling. The first few days he said he was scared, but he got through it. When I asked him this morning his response couldn't have made me happier: "I'm extremely excited!" It was a good day, and this was a huge milestone. Well done, Ethan.
