This is one of the things I miss most - the way he saw me. He made me believe I was better and stronger and more capable than I ever was.
This pic was taken after I defended my dissertation. It was a long struggle to get there and there were serious moments where I didn’t think I would be able to make it. But I needed to finish for him, and I later realized, I really needed to finish for me.
I didn’t know whether he’d live to see me walk out of the room where I defended and hear them announce me as “Dr.” for the first time... It was a race against time. But we both made it.
I didn’t realize quite what it would mean to him or how proud he would be, but I knew education was one of his strongest values and I am grateful I had a chance to fulfill one of his dreams; we really earned it together.
The greatest things I have ever accomplished were through his nudging.

Change Your Mind and Change Your Life
You can't change your habits overnight, it takes work, real inner work. It starts with Intention, Clarity and Focus, the three universal principles or laws that work intrinsically together. Changing habits comes down to first changing your mindset, making conscious decisions and following through on them. When you change your mindset, you can change your life. If you want major changes in your life, then you can't be doing things in the same old way, otherwise you will get the same old results. You have to come out of mediocrity, and out of the comfort zone that keeps you in the same place and instead decide to get things moving. In recent studies at the University College of London, it was found on average that it takes 66 days to acquire a new habit, for some people much longer. That means you need a strong persistence to keep going until you achieve what you want, to persevere until you turn things around. Deep listening to the stories you tell yourself give you many clues to what needs to change, beginning with today is a new day, every day is a new day, and offers the opportunity for change.

Its 2018, there must be room for self-improvement. Even if you think you’re living the perfect life, there is still allot of room for growth. It could be something as little as changing everyday habits like waking up for prayers early, reviewing notes before a meeting, helping with chores around the house, being a better parent to your child. It could be something academic like learning a new language or even a programming language. We need to push ourselves and start caring more.
Set goals that can be achieved in the short term or long term. Unrealistic goals will only demotivate you and will lead to failure. Always remember that goals without deadlines are dreams. Even during the process of achieving those goals you have to constantly check yourself so you’re not slacking. You must show improvements to succeed in achieving those goals.
Living in a competitive world there is need for self-development. Big budgets are allocated for research and development on technologies like deep learning, machine learning, big data, IoT and Artificial Intelligence. We live in the era of technological revolution and approximately 7.5 million retail jobs are at risk of automation in the next decade, study held by Cornerstone Capital Group. For example, Amazon Go is a concept store which has no checkout line or cash register. Payment processes are automated through customer’s smartphones. McDonalds and Wendys have kiosks in some restaurants. Many of the corporate jobs will be affected as most of the financial calculations will be handled by big data algorithmic calculations.

After last night's back pain exercises and cardio, I slept better than I have all week, and woke up today not as exhausted as I've woken up all week 😊😊 so my mood was pretty cheerful. I didn't feel as much tension in my back, though there were some moments that made me certain that today was not a dancing day...all in all, I feel pretty good and hope I can be more on track tomorrow and continuing. I miss that feeling of being lighter than air that carries me through my days that comes from working out consistently.
This has not been the #100daysoffitness beginning I'd hoped for, but I'm still over here hoping for the best!

Run training is dressed in overalls. And I really just want to run in the other direction. But I’m not giving away my shot! So I persist.
COUNTERINTUITIVE. Many people say that they don't want to structure their days to a schedule because they value freedom. While this definitely holds basis, I've found that through structuring my day and building core habits, I actually freed myself to do MORE of what my higher self ACTUALLY wanted to do instead of being distracted by what I wanted to do short term.
Try this. Write out what habits you eventually want to own. Select three habits you will focus on. Studies show habits become ingrained after 66 days of consistent doing. Finally, write out what habits you already own that you can leverage. Make a morning routine because the quality of how you begin sets the standards for the rest of it. ❤
By far the hardest workout of the comp-
SYNCHRO 21-15-9 thrusters + Box Jump overs, followed by 50 CTB pull ups. If you were watching, you KNOW how dramatic I was the whole time. I literally wanted to stop and go home. It’s moments like those when you have to dig deep- because it’s so much easier to give up and say, “I don’t want it THAT bad” - if you change the words coming out of your mouth, your mindset will slowly follow and you’ll learn a LOT about yourself. It’s amazing how far my mindset has come. Super late thank you to @ta3j for pushing me through that one. Find a weakness and work like hell to make it a strength. 💪🏼
