Hey my friends....I wanted to share something with you. I have always been upfront and honest with you about why I have begun my journey of health and fitness...and what a long road it has been.
17 months ago today I had my last drink and my last cigarette. At 9 am I picked up the phone and called 911 and said I needed help...I wasn't lying!! But that didn't happen until I had downed a big bottle of wine and smoked my last pack of cigarettes! If I was going to go out...I might as well go out big.
What a mess...so many problems, so many addictions...but my life has changed. I now spend my days sharing my passion for good health, great food, exercise and happiness. What a great way to spend my life, and help provide for my family!! 📽🎞VIDEO OF THE DAY🎞📽 When my one-on-one instructor, who’s training me right from my living room, tells me to put my hand on my butt to feel the muscle contract well then you do as you’re told and feel that muscle fire away! Glutes were on fire 🔥 but I wanna wake up sore tomorrow because well then I know I’m doing something right!
Today’s take away: it’s ok to wobble. It’s ok to pause. You don’t want to rush through the moves but rather pause to fix your form or the bands if the roll. This is day 2. Don’t expect a miracle to happen over night.
I am 55 years old. I have wrinkles and fine lines. I have a scar that is 14 inches long on my stomach from emergency spleen removal. I have loose skin from losing 156 lbs. But that is not going to stop me.
I have the cholesterol of a 20 year old, the best blood pressure I have ever had in my life, normal blood work...and I feel better than I have ever felt since I was 14 when my anxiety and panic started.
It makes me sad when I hear women say that they can't lose weight or get healthy because they are over 50. That is so untrue and I am an example of that. You can do anything that you want to do...you just have to want it.
Believe me...I was the excuse queen for years...that's all I knew. Then I started to exist instead of live. I used to cry to Richard saying that I was missing out on my life...he never knew what to say, except hug me.
Its just portion controlled whole food, daily workouts at home, superfood shake, group accountability and ME as your coach.
You have to want to feel good...get a new lease on life and do something to make you live again. I will talk to you forever, but you have to decide to do it.

You can do anything if you work at it, and give yourself a realistic time to reach that goal.
Yesterday was January 15th and the gym was empty! 2 weeks after everyone has made their New Years resolution to lose weight or be fit or to start working out at the gym and where are they? Maybe I just went on the wrong night maybe me and them workout on different nights so I shouldn’t say that they have given up but...... I hear lots of people say tome and to Jackie well I can’t do what you guys do and me and Jackie look at them and ask well what do we do that is so hard?
We make supper every night and hardly order out so ok that might be it could be tough. We bring our lunches to work (usually left overs from last nights supper) instead of going out to eat for lunch so ok that might be tough. And well we workout at least 5 times a week depending on the program we are doing. Yes that could be tough especially if you have never worked out before or have no idea where to start.
Listen...... Jackie and I have been doing this for almost 3 years now and no one expects you to be doing what I’m doing or what she is doing. When we started we had no idea what to do that’s why these programs are so awesome they teach you they show you how to do everything they workout with you so you’re not alone.
We focused on our nutrition first. The program told us how much to eat and what to eat so we bought groceries for that and started making meals for what we needed to eat to power our bodies. Anyone can do that. Then we found a beginners program and started following the program. Did we do the same amount of reps as them on the tv no but we did as many as we could.
We stuck with it and we got stronger we started losing weight, grocery shopping became routine. Making supper and enough for left overs for lunch the next day became automatic. Workouts became second nature, we did them as soon as our son went to bed and they only took 30 minutes.
None of this is rocket science it just take some time and commitment. I can do it, you can do it, we can do it together!
Good morning my friends...Happy Tuesday! How is everyone doing today? Stay warm...get ready for your day, physically and mentally!! We've got a lot of people to help today!! I picked Richard up from work yesterday afternoon, and I noticed a tent in a very secluded section off the highway and I thought...oh my God...is someone actually living there in this cold. I have not been able to get it off of my mind...or the poor person in it.
So I am going to be grateful, and happy and positive...and try and help everyone I can today...even a smile can help! You never know what someone is going through!

📽🎞VIDEO OF THE DAY🎞📽 Today ... today was a monumental day. Today is Day 1 of the 80 Day Obsession program. Today’s workout was Total Body Core. Today was a day where I talked with my team A LOT! Today was a day for trial and error. A day for pushing myself with a 60 minute workout and eating more food all day than I have in ... I can’t remember how long. Today was a GREAT day! These are the 3 moves that started my workout. Not overly complicated moves but ones that work your whole core. There’s still time for you to join. Take the challenge and join me. Do hard things! Good morning friends....how is everybody doing today? It's okay to say crappy...because sometimes that's how we all feel. It's not always great, you are not always happy...and that is life. But there are certain times that we are unhappy just because we are not happy with ourselves...and that is one thing we can control.
Believe me...I know what it feels like to be crappy...but enough was enough. It was time to grab my sorry self by the pants and do something with my life. If I didn't....I was going to continue on the road that I was on....continue up the 300 lb ladder, and eventually die.
I made a choice...I put my faith in myself, in God, and in those that were around me supporting my comeback. So what did I do...I found a lifestyle, not a diet. I found other women that were going through the same problem with being over weight and unhealthy. I found a solution to my 55 year old search for a life that would not be so difficult.
Healthy food, exercise, superfood shake...and ME as your coach. It's not complicated, it's amazingly simple...and you are going to feel and look better than you have in years.

Hey my friends...more meal prep for Richard...boneless chicken thighs with my own Mexican seasoning...mixture of cumin, chili powder, oregano, black pepper with lemon squeezed over top and lemon slices.
On the right is baked zucchini fries...dipped in egg whites and milk mixture, dipped in Italian panko.
Both baked at 400 for 40 minutes...flipping zucchini once!

Hey my friends...I fell in love with this...I hope you do too. This eggplant fan can be served warm or cold, as a main dish, side dish or as a filling for a sandwich. Make 2 and have enough for lunches during the week...so it's perfect as part of your food prep.
Roasted Eggplant Fan
1 large Eggplant
2-3 large Tomatoes
1-2 large Garlic cloves
6 oz. Feta Cheese crumbled
Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Rinse the eggplant and pat dry with paper towel. Cut the eggplant into thin slices, but leave attached at the stem. Grease each eggplant slice with oil; season with salt and pepper.
Cut tomatoes into thin rings. Finely chop the garlic, parsley and basil leaves. Place the eggplant on a parchment paper-lined baking pan. Stuff eggplant slices with tomato, garlic, feta, parsley, and basil. Press the eggplant slightly with the palm of your hand to form a fan. Drizzle with more oil.
Bake for about one hour. If there is still liquid in the pan lower the oven temperature to 200 and bake 15 minutes longer or until all liquid has evaporated. Length of baking depends on the size of the eggplant.
Hey my friends...I wanted to give a shout out to my husband Richard. He is not on Facebook, but has been my biggest supporter ever since I have started this journey, and years before.
He saw me at my worst and he is now seeing me at my best! He didn't want anything to do with the shake, and the whole Beachbody thing. He saw how I was a changed person, how I wasn't the girl he knew before. He took a sip of my vegan chocolate one day and said yuck....and I didn't push him. A couple of weeks later he said...I think I want to try that shake thing...but vanilla. Well he started and he hasn't looked back...except to change it to Strawberry...lol.
During the holidays he was like a human vacuum so when the New Year arrived he has committed like I have never seen...lol. He has lost 10 pounds, 28 pounds total, and is committed to getting down to his fighting weight as he calls it. So tonight for dinner he is having quinoa with black beans...and he is loving it. I am sooo proud of him.
Anyone who knows Rich knows food is his life, but he knows if we want to grow old together, we both had to make changes. We all can do whatever it is we are shooting for...as long as you want it bad enough!

I had not done any exercise since college. I went from moving my body every day with basketball to not doing anything at all. I don't know why I ever wondered why I was gaining weight.
Fast forward 30 years and 150 extra pounds on my body....yuck. If anyone ever told me that I would be working out every day I would have told them they were nuttier than me. But I am...every single day, in the comfort of my own home...when I want, in whatever room I want...with my own personal trainer.
Sure you get stronger, have more energy, lose unwanted pounds, tone up, get healthier and have increased immunity to sickness...but your heart...the big muscle in your chest is beating with pride and joy because your cholesterol is down, your blood pressure is down, your sugar is down....and you are just a great vessel for that heart to keep on beating for a long time.
So many reasons...more than I can list, and probably more than I know to start moving your body and taking care of yourself. If it sounds like a good plan to you Message Me and let's talk...the clock and heart are beating.
There are so many reasons why I chose to live a healthy life. There are so many diets, wraps, pills, space food containers....but I have done them all.
I chose whole, portion controlled food, daily workouts, and a superfood meal that has brought me back to life. There are so many things that have improved in my life...not only the 156 pound weight loss. My blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose level...all are normal. My bloodwork...normal. But what I wanted to show you...what has happened to my skin, nails and hair.
I was so malnourished and poisoned by the crap that I was putting into my body that so much of my hair had fallen out. The picture on the left was December of 2016...the one on the right is today...I can't believe the difference and neither can my stylist. I am getting my vitamins, minerals and superfoods every day...besides increasing my energy, curbing my sweet cravings and giving me total gut health. Besides that it is a meal replacement and aids in our weight loss process.

Hi my friends...I am on my way back from NYC and I am excited to be coming home to see Richard, but I have a heavy heart leaving my Coleman and Lizzy and Noe. But the incredible thing is...2 years ago I wouldn't have been able to get in a train, or run through Grand Central being late because of traffic.
I am doing things I have never been able to do...or never even dreamed of doing. Yes I am clean and sober, yes the cigarettes are gone, yes I have lost 156 lbs....but I am a different person because I am stronger than I ever thought possible....and so are all of you.
You will never realize the strength you have inside of you unless you give yourself the opportunity to fail. I could have failed so many times...but I didn't!! I had the support of people just like me, who were trying to get healthy and fit. I learned how much better I felt when I put good food in my body...how much stronger I became when I exercised every day, and how my health continued to improve by drinking my superfoods everyday!

Hey my friends...looks as good as it tastes!!! Savory Turkey + Chickpea Skillet
1 pound lean ground turkey
2 extra virgin olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 carrots, peeled, and diced
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
sea salt and black pepper to taste
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup diced tomatoes, with juice
15 ounces chickpeas, rinsed
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the ground turkey to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring and crumbling with a wooden spoon.
Then add in the onion, carrot and red bell pepper sautéing for a couple minutes.
Stir in the spices, salt and pepper and continue to sauté until the veggies soften and the turkey is cooked through.
Stir in the tomatoes, broth, chickpeas and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 6-8 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
Remove from the heat and stir in the fresh herbs of choice.
Serve as is or with cooked quinoa, or brown rice.

Went for coffee this morning with a friend who has been talking about starting a healthy lifestyle for a while. We talked about everything under the sun in my life and in hers....it was wonderful.

Good morning my friends...Happy Monday to everyone. I have to tell you all...I went out early this morning to take Richard to work and it felt like a heatwave...it was reading 20 on the temperature gauge...woohoo!! So January 8th...the start of a new week in the beginning of the year...what are we going to do today to make this week fantastic? I don't know what it is that you are going to do...but I can tell you that what you put into your mouth, and how you fuel your body is going to have a major impact on how you feel, and how you act throughout the day. Give yourself something that is going to give you good fuel...protein, vitamins, superfoods....not something that is going to weigh you down and have you looking for something else in an hour because you are hungry.
So whatever it may be...treat your body the right way...it's the only one you have, and make this day and week the best ever!!
On days like today (snowstorm) 🌨🌬❄️, I’m so grateful that I don’t have to walk/drive to a gym to get my workout in!!
Especially THIS time of year when the gym is rammed with new people working on their resolutions.

Is anyone else out there a yeller? I definitely am one. I dont yell at people because I am a very nonconfrontational type of person...but when I get upset or mad at something...I Yell.
Richard is the exact opposite. He never yells....I mean never. So this weekend I did alot of yelling because it was like a Comedy Central Corner with our car...and he hates my loud mouth!! Then I saw this...I feel like it was posted just for me!! It's saying...shut your big mouth Valenti...but in a nicer way.

Hi my friends...is everybody comfy cozy? Does everyone have a hot cup of coffee, tea or cocoa in their hand, and a pan of soup or stew on the stove....because that's the kind of day it is.
I want to ask all of you a question. Why is it that every year the number one resolution that people make is that they want to lose weight? I can tell you exactly why...because most of us are too heavy. We all start the year off with good intentions, and then those intentions go South because of one reason....WE WERE TOO HUNGRY!! I was one of those people...always starving myself because I always felt that it would make me lose weight faster. I might have lost some weight...but then when I started eating everything in the quantity that I did before, I just gained it all back, plus!! Now I consider myself an intelligent person, as are most of you. I want to know why I was so stupid for all those years. You don't have to be hungry!!! I would say it louder if I could. It is here for you, and so I opened up 10 spots for next Monday, 1/14 to join my Challenge Group an hour ago...and 2 spots are gone. It is not an easy fix, or a magic potion, or a super pill, or a wrap. It is healthy, portion controlled food, Streamed workouts done once daily, a superfood smoothie, a group for support, and ME as your coach!! It took me 53 years to find how to finally lose weight, be fit, stay healthy, and MAINTAIN MY WEIGHT! It shouldn't take that long for you. MESSAGE ME, and we can get you going to start next Monday!!
Good morning my friends....Happy Sunday to everyone. My husband's friend came in the house to pick him up this morning for bowling and he said to me, "If I wanted to live in Northern Canada I would've moved there"...lol. I guess that is how he is feeling about this weather, and a lot of other people as well...myself included. But I do have heat today, where last week I didn't, so that's a good thing.
When you wake up in the morning, give yourself 5 minutes, and just do nothing. Lie there, or sit on the edge of your bed, but do nothing. Don't reach for your phone, put on music...just be quiet, and think of three good things in your life. And after you think of three things, think of 1 good thing that you are going to accomplish in your day...and then get out of bed and start your day.
I promise you that if you get out of bed with a grateful heart and give yourself something good to accomplish during the day, your days are going to be much happier and more productive. Give it a try...what do you have to lose besides 5 minutes.

📽🎞VIDEO OF THE DAY🎞📽 Day 6 of 2018 and the 6th workout is done. It was back to a Little Obsessed: Leg Day. And while this is a morning after post it’s clear that getting my workout done first thing yesterday was important and the day was a whirlwind. The beauty of working out at home is 1. It’s AT HOME and you don’t need to go anywhere and 2. You can do it ANYWHERE! Starting something new isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it and you’re worth it. Are you ready to give it a try?!
Good morning my friends.... Happy Sunday to all of you! Today is meal prep Sunday, and in a small time we are going to make ourselves all set for the rest of the week...but more about that later. We need to get in the proper mindset first.
We have all been in the clouds like this picture shows. Just going through each day on auto pilot....no plan, not thinking about our health, our bodies, our minds...just existing. Then one day you wake up and you don't even recognize the person in the mirror...and it's you!! So today you can change that. You can start to live again instead of just existing.You can start to feel good about yourself again. You can have a purpose every day...and that purpose is to be a little bit better, stronger, healthier...more fit....than you were yesterday!! So whether you've been here already, or just starting out....remember 1-7-18...it could be the first day of the rest of your life!!
Hi my friends....how is everyone doing today? I know a lot of people are staying inside under the covers....unfortunately we didn't have that luxury today...you know...just life stuff.
I woke up this morning with my same routine as usual...PD, workout, superfood smoothie....then started my work...but that didn't last long. The old Cindy at 306 lbs would have started with the chips, the chardonnay and the butts...but not anymore. It's not because I am anything special, or different than anyone....it is all about the mindset.
If you tell yourself that you can do anything, that you can handle anything, that you can be anything or accomplish anything that you want to.....that's what is going to happen. The first few steps are always the hardest...but then it becomes a habit. Not all at once...not right away...but it will happen. If you want something to happen in your life, and you work hard enough for it...you are going to see results.
So if you are looking to change your life, to change your inside and outside, to be healthier than you have ever been...the decision is all yours. You can make the decision and Message Me so we can start a conversation about where you want to be in 6 months, or you can go about what you are doing, and not change yourself for the better. 📽🎞VIDEO OF THE DAY🎞📽 Day 5 of 2018 and the 5th workout is done. It was back to a Little Obsessed: Cardio Core today. A low intensity move followed by a high intensity move for 3 minutes and then a core exercise. For 6 rounds. You will sweat. You may curse. But you will do more than you think you can and this may be the fastest 30 minutes of your day. And with temps in the negative numbers because of the freezing wind chill it is days like today that I am 1000% grateful I don’t have to leave my house to go to a gym and eat a workout done! You can stay home too and try this out! Are you ready to try?!

One onion chopped, 4 cloves garlic, 4 carrots chopped, 6 ribs of celery chopped, 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, one bag of spinach, 1 tbsp. fresh thyme chopped, 2 quarts low sodium chicken stock, 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper, salt and pepper to taste, 1 cup of cooked rice added at the end of cooking.
Sautee garlic, carrots, celery and onions ...add chicken breasts, thyme, red pepper, and salt and pepper. Add chicken stock and spinach. Cook on medium for one hour...chicken will shred with a fork. Taste and adjust seasoning...serve piping hot with grated cheese and bread if desired.
I made mine in the pressure cooker, but on the stove with a dutch oven would be fine...so tasty!!!
Hi my friends....how is everybody's morning going. Ours has been busy so far, but I still was able to get in my awesome podcast for my PD, got in my workout, made my superfood shake and went to North Haven to drop off the car, and to the bank in Branford....woohoo...feeling good and accomplished!! We were going by a very popular gym this morning and the parking lot was pretty empty. I said to myself...wow...that's unusual for the 5th of January...that's only 5 days into the new year. Rich must have been thinking the same thing, and he said..."look at nobody at the gym...probably because the kids are home from school" I didn't even think about that but he is so right.
The beauty for us is we both do our workouts daily..and we both do different ones with different trainers. Sometimes we both do ours at the same time in different rooms, and all we have to do is PRESS PLAY!!! We could do a workout together as well....but there are over 500 different workouts to choose from...from beginners to advanced, to live 80 day workouts with Autumn Calabrese, to yoga, to children's workouts, to an awesome cooking program and all you have to do is push play.
So easy to be healthy and fit....all you need is the desire, the determination and the right tools....its a lifestyle, not a diet.....MESSAGE ME!!

Hi my friends...I hope everyone is safe, warm, dry and out of harms way. I also hope that you are careful when letting animals out to pee....little ones can get blown over by this wind.
I have a question for all women...why do we always put ourselves on the bottom of the totem pole? Why is everyone and everything more important than our needs...in particular our health? Why do we always say that we are going to get healthy, but it's not the right time...or someday...when things calm down.
This is so true for younger women with small children and teenagers, because basically what we become are taxis or ubers nowadays and ATM cards. And now, grandmas are starting to take over the role of caregiver because moms are out working along with dad, and day care is so expensive it wouldn't be worth working. Believe me....I understand this all...I have been there, and am still there now with grandchildren....but I know what happens when you forget about yourself....and it's not good.
I always say you can't take care of others if you don't take care of yourself first....think about it....it is soooo true. Don't lose yourself like I did....put your health and fitness as a priority. Feel better than you have in years...I will be right by your side, along with a support system of women doing the same thing...starting a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families....Comment I'M IN below or Message Me!

Good morning my friends....Happy Thursday!! If you haven't gotten to the store you are just going to have to make do...because the storm is here. The kids don't have school, alot of people don't have work...so stay in bed, get some extra sleep or get up and get that workout done that you always pass on because you're running late.
I loved seeing this first thing in the morning. It's so true...if you face life positively and with a good attitude and a smile, good things are going to surround you and find you. The same goes the other way...have a frown on, be negative...its going to follow you wherever you go.
So put on a smile for yourself and those around you! It will make such a difference in your day...and the lives of those around you.

I was on my bike an hour ago and I was not having any success at finding a podcast to listen to while I was riding. I was scrolling through FB and I came across a familiar face and it was a video which really touched
I usually do shout outs and give words of encouragement to fellow coaches or challengers who have reached goals in their journey...not today.
I have never met this woman, I only know her from her page, and her incredible meal preparation, and her ability to make any topic interesting. She was talking about her mom, and how she is alive, vibrant and living every moment like it is a celebration...not just Christmas, Thanksgiving or New Years...but every day!! It just really touched me, and made me think that even when we do mundane, but important things like I was doing like riding my bike...it should be a celebration of this wonderful thing that we call life. And for this...I thank you... Laurie-Beth Robbins...for making my bike ride and my day a celebration!

I was listening to my personal development this morning, and I heard the most amazing thing. People at this time of year make New Year resolutions every year...the usual....stop smoking, stop drinking, lose weight, find a new job....they generally last for 3 or 4 weeks and then our lives return to the way they were until the next year....because it's never the right time during the year.
So instead of saying Happy New Year...why don't we say Happy New Life...because if you really want to do something you are going to do it once...and make it last the rest of your life!!
Great for food prep!! Grilled Chicken Caesar Wraps
Makes about 8-10 wraps/4-5 servings
1 Head Romaine Lettuce
1.5 lbs. Chicken Tenders
1.5 cups Cherry Tomatoes, sliced
1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese – grated
1 Tbs. Garlic Powder
1 Tbs. Italian Seasoning
Sea Salt and Pepper to taste
Avocado Oil, or Olive Oil
Greek Yogurt Caesar Dressing:
Juice from 1 fresh lemon
2 Tbsp soy sauce, or coconut aminos
1 Tbsp raw honey
1 Tsp dijon mustard
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
Whisk all dressing ingredients together until combined and smooth.
Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
Sprinkle chicken tenders with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, sea salt and pepper - rub to coat evenly.
Preheat a large grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. rub grill with 2 Tbsp. oil.
Grill the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
Prepare 8-10 large leaves of romaine lettuce.
Once the chicken has cooked and cooled, add a couple of tenders to each romaine leave. Then top with a few cherry tomatoes, drizzle
with 2 Tbsp of Caesar dressing and sprinkle with parmesan.
Serve with lemon wedges. .
