💛VEGAN FLATBREAD PIZZA💛recipe below 🍕👇
Vegan pizza was one of the first things I made (too often) when I started eating vegan. It was a nice segway into getting used to eating more plants 👏
Now that I'm eating more whole-food plant based I've tried to cut out processed things as much as possible which includes flatbreads, sadly :( .
But life is alll about balance and feeling deprived of your favorite thing is no fun! So now we have it no more than once a month 😉
I prefer using flat bread since it's crispier and can handle tons of veggies on it 💪
▪️Preheat oven to 425, line pizza pans with unbleached parchment paper ▪️Chop + sautee veggies before adding to pizza 🍕 pre-cooking is necessary so the veg don't make your pizza soggy and they crisp better in the oven after. ▪️Add pizza spice while cooking (or sub these spices to make pizza spice: onion, bell pepper, fennel, oregano, garlic, basil, chili pepper, parsley, thyme, marjoram, and celery) ▪️veggies can each be pre-cooked separately or sautéed all together, up to you!
▪️add sauce, veggies to flatbread and add more pizza spice (that stuff is 👏👏) ▪️sprinkle with nutritional yeast or put nutritional yeast/cashews in food processor to make a "cheesier" tasting topping ▪️bake at 425/according to flatbread package directions (usually 15-20min)
Note: I don't recommend eating packaged vegan "cheez" substitute as it is generally high in saturated fat and sodium .
🥙 Lebanese food is one of my favorites! And this combo from @beirutpanama never fails:
- Pita Bread
Just spread that hummus, add the greens and you’re left with the most savory sandwich 🤤👌🏼• A picture of the garlic patacones will be posted soon 👀😋
Dessert rice flakes
I swear not all our food is burgers and sugary food 😅
But the only sugar on this anyway was a little pure maple syrup and those sprinkles!
Rice flake porridge cooked with rice mylk, cinnamon and mashed banana, topped with stewed pears, heated blueberries, a drizzle of maple syrup and sprinkles 👌
Vegan is delicious AND nourishing 🍌

WOD: Fun Time Gym Time 💪💪Stupid ankle is still stupid (no running yet 😭) so I’m having fun with upper body, grip strength, and core workouts - things I should be focusing on anyway! Stretching is also something I skip but not anymore. I now make it a point to stretch for at least 10 minutes after my workouts 🤸♀️ What was your workout today? 🔥

15 reverse crunches
1 minute plank

Did you know?... “Fasting triggers a metabolic pathway called autophagy, which removes waste material from cells” 🙏
I have been incorporating supported cleanse/fasting days into my lifestyle now for the past 18 months and there is no denying the benefits! Happy cleanse day to all my fellow cleansers ❤️
After a wet walk on the beach, lunch at Sea Monster Noodle Bar in Tofino was the Golden Beet Poke. Delicious - I would highly recommend this eatery if you are ever in Tofino. We have eaten here several times because they have 3 dishes that can be veganized and they are all delicious; and my non-vegan partner loves the poke here so win, win.
Anxiety is the third most common mental health issue worldwide, and everyone suffers from a headache once in a while.
You can choose to use the oil of lavender or the flower whichever you feel is more suitable for your health and well-being.
Pure lavender oil is among the gentlest of essential oils, but also one of the most powerful.
Lavender oil has a chemically complex structure with over 150 active constituents, which explains its effectiveness at helping with a lot of health ailments. Lavender oil possesses amazing anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, analgesic, detoxifier, hypotensive, and sedative properties.
Florida researchers have found that lavender oil benefits include reducing anxiety and lowering pulse rates in nursing students taking stressful tests. And in hospital settings, lavender aromatherapy has been demonstrated to decrease pre-surgery distress and to be more relaxing than massage or merely resting.
Lavender essential oil has medicinal properties, shown to reduce #depression , improve #insomnia and ease labor pains. And anecdotal evidence suggests that lavender oil benefits those with headaches, hangovers, sinus congestion and pain relief. “Much prior research on #lavender has focused on the administration of lavender via an olfactory route. The anxiolytic activity of lavender olfaction has been demonstrated in several small and medium-sized clinical trials. The efficacy of aromatherapy of lavender is thought to be due to the psychological effects of the fragrance combined with physiological effects of volatile oils in the limbic system.

One of my fave #whitepeople foods is pot pie haha. I couldn’t find any vegan pot pie in any local stores and or restaurants so I made my own! Loaded mine with my mushrooms, potatoes, peas, garlic, onions, fresh herbs, homemade cream of mushroom soup, and vegan sour cream 🌿 So flaky, creamy, and perfectly cozy for this rainy day 😍🌧

You can't be against violence and support violence at the same time. Meat comes from abused and violently killed animals. If you buy it and eat it, you pay for violence. It's not judgement, it's a fact.
Yesterday's workout left me feeling SO sore today!! It was a great one and I worked hard!!! I was hesitant to share this video because my six pack is a one pack right now but dude. It's me. It's my body. I earned it and I love it. And when I look at videos like this and have that twinge of "ew" I remember how far I've come and how lucky I am to be on this journey!! 💪💪 when I first did p90x I didn't have weights. I didn't have a pull up assist band to help me. I just had determination and a desire to change. That's all you need!! If you want to join me on this journey comment below with "me!" or shoot me a message- I'd ❤️love to work with you on hitting your goals and changing your life!
After taking a 2 month break off of CrossFit training, getting back to it for a bit only to then take a week off for a mini vegan vacay with babe... I have been back training for a week now and I feel the consistency ball is now rolling with less distractions.
Being consistent with my training makes me feel positive, powerful and capable in other areas of life.
I have always struggled to feel positive as a person and often feel challenged in tapping into my inner powers and this definitely helps.
Also, I feel sexy and alive when my body is moving and working and functioning well. Anyone feel that too?

🍁BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP!🍁
We finally got some cool fall weather here in the NE to make soup. 🎃 This was my first try making it fresh instead of store bought. So much better.👍 I used a simple recipe you can tweak to your liking. It was so creamy & filling. I served it with Trader Joe's Vegan Artisan French Baguette bread. I never knew that even existed. 🍂🍃🌺
STEP 1■Cut & cube 2 large butternut squash approximately 6 cups. Set aside. Save seeds to roast later.
STEP 2■In a large stock pot •Add 1 large sweet onion chopped •6 garlic cloves chopped
•1/4 tsp hot pepper flakes
•1/2 tsp greek oregano
•1/2 tsp black pepper
•1/4 tsp nutmeg
Open quart of organic vegetable broth & pour some in pot 2 saute all of the above for approximately 10 minutes
STEP 3■Add the remaining vegetable stock. I used Trader Joe's brand, all the cubed squash & enough water to just cover the squash.
STEP 4■Simmer covered for approximately 1 hour until squash is tender.
STEP 5■Scoop out soup & puree.
I used my nutri-bullet. I filled the cup up a little over halfway & added an inch of plain almond milk. Pour into a new pot. Continue until all the soup is pureed. If you like it creamier add more milk during this process and water if you like it thinner.
Stir well & serve immediately. ENJOY!
