**It has taken me a long time to be comfortable creating this post... but I want to be real.  Itโ€™s a sort of backwards transformation.  Am I really both of those people?? **On the left I am 135 lbs, August 2016, pre-pregnancy. **On the right I am 160 lbs, October 2017, 10 weeks postpartum. ** I love both of these bodies for completely different reasons.  Both are strong and capable in different ways.  I could run marathons thanks to the body on the left.  I have a beautiful, healthy baby thanks to the body on the right.  I still canโ€™t believe we grow people and push them out... and thatโ€™s coming from an obgyn. **The extra weight has served its purpose. Let me in a snap shot show you where I once was. Seeing is believing,  right? Look at that back a year ago, and look at it now. 
I know what you are thinking now. "I am very busy I do not think I have the time to workout like you do" 
Yes, you do, I can show you how. Only 30 min a day. "But I am a full time working momma and I have a family to take care of". Me too momma, trust me, you can do this too. "Maybe once my baby gets a little older and stops breastfeeding, I can start working out"

Why wait? I started back working out and following an even healthier eating plan when my little one was four months and still breastfeeding. I really wish I started sooner. "I do not think I can afford any programs, right now. Tight budget". What is the price tag on your health momma? Can you give it a tag? I started while broke and it was my best investment thus far. "I am not capable of doing any hardcore workouts"

The days are getting cold and dreary. In the past, now is just about the time where a dark cloud would loom over my head, longing for the sun to lift it.

I was never diagnosed with Seasonal Affective  Disorder, but dark days, whether during the summer or winter, had always taken a toll on me.

When the sun was hiding, thatโ€™s exactly where I would want to be too- hiding away from the day. With the clouds came a lack of motivation, fewer smiles, and low energy.

I never knew what to do with those feelings except count down the hours till the end of the day and pray for the sun the next day. .

Now, I still donโ€™t feel the same as when the sun is shining. However, I can take those feelings and sweat them out. Exercise and the endorphins it brings, helps me tremendously. The weight of the darkness is lifted from just 30 minutes of exercise.

Before I joined my first accountability group, I probably would have stopped my workout and gave up. I probably would have never opened up that workout program again. โ€ขโ€ขโ€ขโ€ข
But now, thanks to my amazing group of acountabili-babes and the amazing team of coaches I am a part of, I KEPT GOING. I didnโ€™t want to let THEM down. I cannot begin to explain how freaking thankful I am for them.

I can't believe it's been already one week since I gave birth to Harper!@little_bear_you Recovery has been going very well after my c-section and I think exercising until the end of pregnancy was a big factor as well as the weight loss. I gained 30 pounds during pregnancy and down almost 15 pounds today which I wasn't expecting. Taking care of my baby girl is my number priority right now and fitness will have to be on hold for a while. This past week he got me the new waterproof one so I donโ€™t have to take it off every time I do dishes or bath the baby. So excited & thankful! The love I have for this girl just grows and grows every day. When she was born my heart had never felt so full, and as time has passed it's as though my heart's capacity to love has grown more and more. Little nooks and crannies that I never knew were there are being filled each day through endless book reading, playing, and snuggle sessions.

During my workout today she played in her playroom and would periodically check in by letting out a little squeal for attention. So I would pause my workout, go give her a hug and a kiss, catch my breath and then go back to my workout.
.

It doesn't have to be perfect, yall! You can workout in the comfort of your living room while your kids play around you. You can take breaks to give them a hug, or change a diaper, or read them a book, and get right back to it.
.

Can you imagine all those moments I would miss out on if I worked out at the gym? Not to mention the extra time to drive there and back, wait for the equipment to be available, etc. I'll take my home workouts any day!

Grocery day means cleaning out the vege compartment of the fridge  and this week I had lots of leftovers ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ‘๐ŸŒถ๐Ÿ… that were still edible. So I quickly made 3 salads in mason jars for my lunches this week. Pairing them with @catherine_moodyโ€™s spinach ๐ŸŒฑ & egg ๐Ÿฅš muffins with leftover mushrooms ๐Ÿ„ which Iโ€™m planning to bulk make once my arms are free from my snoozing bebe. But Iโ€™m in no rush ๐Ÿ˜‰

My last hike was when I carried A'necia in my belly was at 30 weeks, now today at she's 3 1/2 months old in my arms. Time seriously flys, it's so amazing and sad at the same time. From feeling your little kicks now to hearing you makes noises and trying to sit up on your own. When I tell ya'll having her was THE BEST experience and blessing God let me go through. Turmeric tea and a rice cake with peanut butter for breakfast. 
This lunch is one of my favorites- looks and tastes like junk food, but super healthy- veggie-packed chili on spring mix, topped with cheese and salsa, everything organic except the cheese.
Green protein shake after lifting weights. Chicken tenders (I gave one to a toddler), Brussels sprouts, and baked sweet potato for dinner. And it's always a good day when you finish with chocolate Halo Top while cleaning the kitchen. (Pretty convinced Halo Top has one of the best chocolate ice creams on the market, regardless of nutrition facts.)

Alright guys! So here I am being as transparent as I can get! I am flawed and I know this! And because of this, insecurities arise. But I'm pushing them aside because I want you guys to experience this journey with me. So here are my before and after pictures! While it may not seem like a whole lot, it's a big deal for me! One, because I'm setting aside my insecurities. Two, because I lost a total of 9.2 inches!!! And three... Look at my back and my booty!!! I hadn't slept in 30ish hours, my dad & Caleb both spent the night in the delivery room, just patiently waiting for me to go into labor. I don't know how your delivery went, but mine was hard. After almost 2 hours of pushing, her heart rate dropping, and lots of tears, we became a family. When the doctor laid her on my chest, something changed. I looked at my husband with a whole new love, and he was probably the happiest I've ever seen him ๐Ÿ’œ โ€ข

But on that day, we made a promise to do good. We made a promise to her to do our absolute best for ourselves & our bodies, and for her. Because in that moment, I could not imagine her having to do this life without either of us in it. โ€ข

As a kid, I had a problem with not being able to gain weight & being "skinny" became part of my identity as life went on. I worked REALLY F'ING HARD to stay thin. Thin was healthy & beautiful to me ๐Ÿ˜” (it's not anymore FYI...).

So when I woke up "one day" & found myself 25lbs heavier than "normal", I was devastated. Lost. Insecure. Uncomfortable. And in total denial about what it was going to take to be "ME" again. Diets, fads, trends, pills, juices... I wanted results like YESTERDAY.

When I came out of the grief, denial, anger & yes... even bargaining stages, all that was left was acceptance. Acceptance... & WORK. Down & dirty. When I joined MY first fit club, I was sure I'd be adding another โœ”๏ธ to the "failed" column, but then...

As a kid, I had a problem with not being able to gain weight & being "skinny" became part of my identity as life went on. I worked REALLY F'ING HARD to stay thin. Thin was healthy & beautiful to me ๐Ÿ˜” (it's not anymore FYI...). . So when I woke up "one day" & found myself 25lbs heavier than "normal", I was devastated. Lost. Insecure. Uncomfortable. And in total denial about what it was going to take to be "ME" again. Diets, fads, trends, pills, juices... I wanted results like YESTERDAY. . When I came out of the grief, denial, anger & yes... even bargaining stages, all that was left was acceptance. Acceptance... & WORK. Down & dirty. When I joined MY first fit club, I was sure I'd be adding another โœ”๏ธ to the "failed" column, but then... . I share this story with you cause if youโ€™re in one of those stages from not following through on your nutrition plan, workouts, or whatevsโ€ฆ. know that I'm STILL not perfect. I just don't give up. I have "bad" days that go sidewaysโ€ฆ I eat out too much or consume too much wine or miss my workout. Girl... it happens! But if I CAN do this, YOU CAN TOO!!! It's not easyโ€ฆ its gonna get messy (hello holiday season)! Thatโ€™s why you NEED to surround yourself with women going through it too. You NEED others who believe in you when you donโ€™t. . HONEY LEMON CHICKEN ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ‹ Ingredients
* Olive oil cooking spray
* 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
* Salt, to season
* 1/3 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
* 1/4 cup honey
* 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce (optional for added flavour)
* 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
* 2 tablespoons parsley, fresh chopped, divided * 1 teaspoon salt, (or more to your tastes)
* ยฝ teaspoon cracked black pepper, to taste
* 4 bunches asparagus (37-40 spears), woody ends removed
* 1 lemon, sliced to garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400ยฐF. Spray a baking sheet with cooking oil spray and arrange the chicken on the sheet. Season chicken with salt; set aside.โ€จ
2. Combine together the lemon juice, honey, soy sauce, garlic, half of the parsley, salt and pepper. Pour three quarters of the honey lemon mixture over the chicken. Arrange the lemon slices over the top. Season with extra salt and pepper, if desired.โ€จ
3. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through to your liking. Arrange the asparagus around the chicken. Pour the remaining honey lemon mixture over the asparagus; season the asparagus with salt and pepper. Return to the oven to grill or broil until the chicken is golden and cooked through, and the asparagus is cooked. Garnish with the remaining parsley.โ€จ
4. Serve with a side of rice or potatoes. 
some tips:
* Use room temperature chicken where possible! Theyย will cook more evenly than refrigerated or cold chicken breasts
* You can substitute chicken thighs if you donโ€™t like breasts
* Donโ€™t like asparagus? Replace them with green beans, broccoli, zucchini, or cauliflower!
* Serve with potatoes or rice. Use the sauce in the pan to drizzle over your chosen side dish {{{{ of course you can add more or less to the batch. I only used 3 pieces of chicken & 1 bunch of asparagus--- it's SO GOOD, and healthy ๐Ÿ˜œ}}}}

BBG Week 8 Leg Day: One word.. Dead! 
Such a tough workout today. My legs, felt like they were going to fall off which is starting to become a trend every Monday. I'm definitely feeling stronger which is a good sign after 8 weeks! I  now am able to do more than two jump lunges and jump burpees. #nsv Cheers to a new week and a chance to slay our workouts! #100strong
