Sunday night used to mean dinner with friends, a movie, the last champagne before the work week. Now it's about folding washing, Midsomer Murders and co-ordinating diaries to make sure we know who is where with the kids through the week. Feels nice. Not all fresh starts are this glamourous!
'Hubby' and the big kids are back from a mini-break at @oreillysrainforestretreat refreshed and relaxed before the start of school. What a gorgeous part of the world. Thank you for taking such good care of them 💙
You see each other across the room, your eyes lock, you fall in love & become
engaged and then you begin wondering - I do trust him but what if it all goes wrong? Would he REALLY go after all my assets? Should you get a pre-nup or not – that is the question!
Here are some factors to consider: 💛 Pre-nups aren’t legally binding in England and Wales however the Court can take them into consideration in the event of a divorce 💛 Pre-nups are a useful way for you to start your marriage off with a clear, transparent start - especially where one side is financially stronger than the other 💛 Pre-nups are a way in which you can protect assets acquired pre-marriage, especially where you might wish for children of a previous marriage/relationship to inherit your assets 💛 Independent legal advice and full financial disclosure is required to ensure fairness 💛 You must ensure you leave enough time before the wedding to get this dealt with because time needs to be factored in for legal advice, negotiation, drafting and sometimes specialist assistance from accountants and/or foreign lawyers if the finances are complex 💛 You BOTH need to agree to be bound by the terms of the agreement 💛 It should be a fair agreement and no undue pressure by one side to the other should take place 💛 Circumstances change so if a divorce were to happen, the Court would look at the pre-nup in the context of the circumstances at the time of divorce. Regular reviews may need to be undertaken to factor in changes to circumstances e.g. children, ill-health etc **If you are looking to have a pre-nuptial agreement drawn up, make sure you seek specialist legal advice, the above is only a guide & shouldn't be relied upon as legal advice nor does it constitute legal advice**

Today is R U OK? Day. An important reminder that a conversation could change a life. In Australia, suicide is the leading case of death for males and females aged between 15 and 44. The best thing we can all do is regularly talk to the people we care about. If you're not sure how to start a conversation or are worried about how best to ask someone 'R U OK?'
