“Candy Wind,” digital. Painted with custom Photoshop brushes created from watercolor marks. And now, a poem:
Imagine if through
A sweeping swirl
I’ve been thinking a lot about acting vs. allowing lately. When do you sound the horns and rush into battle, and when do you let the breeze take you? Am I trying to hard? Hanging back too much? Trying not to let the “am I doing it rights” get the best of me, but sometimes I feel I’ve strayed so far off the path that I have no idea what I’m doing or where I am. Maybe that’s a good thing. 👀#aplayfulprocess
OCEAN INSPIRED: A few days away surrounded by harbour blues did wonders for my creative being. No wifi, a cheeky cocktail, buckets of hot chips + a good read.👌🏻
Obviously I didn’t get the memo about the vertical striped deck-chair ( wearing matching horizontal stripes), but hey, us surface designers let their hair down on holidays....pattern clash intentional 😂(See sunnies reflection:)
Feeling recharged, inspired + bursting to start new projects. Hope your week was fabulous x ('Into the Blue' clutch available via stockist link.
Hmmm.... so I sewed them all together. It looks kind of random but let me tell you, it took me ages just laying them out. Now I’m thinking I should have turned all the designs the same way. I’m not feeling the upside down owls. Does it look weird? Should I unpick and start over?🤔
A close-up of the finished illustration for January in our 2018 Wall Calendar, “The Woods”. I was inspired by tall, silent trees covered in snow and the deep purple of woodland nighttime. My favorite parts are the star clusters and I honestly plan to use that motif in new art prints this year 🌙❄️ Calendars are on sale now! I finally finished painting my Magnolia Quatrefoil pattern for my new product line. I originally created this pattern when I studied abroad in Florence almost eight years ago! I've been out of school this week from being sick and winter weather and have been sewing up a storm making new items to sell this spring. What kind of fabric items would you want to have with this pattern? Tea towels, pillowcases, tote bags? Please let me know!
