On my visit to @overgaauw_wine_estate I was so surprised...not one bad wine 🍷This Touriga Nacional is a beautiful red for R130.
A visit (by appointment only) to this wine estate is a must-do for anyone who just loves good wine and a little bit of history on the side
tonight we welcomed the autumnal equinox by making these beautiful "witch's candles" with bees wax, calendula, lavender, sweet grass, mugwort, sage, and some sticks we found outside. we wrote something we wanted to release during this time onto a small piece of paper (because autumn is the "waning" phase of the year if we were to equate seasons to the moon phases) and we secured that by wrapping it with sweet grass at the tip of our candles. then, in the middle of our candles we wrote something we would like to manifest in our lives and tied that to our candle as well, a bit further down the shaft. we shared and laughed and burned our candles by a fire outside and observed how they would burn differently at different parts of the candle. we listened to jack johnson and drank home made mulled wine and all around had a beautiful night welcoming in this beautiful season. I hope everyone had a fantastic friday night and an even more fantastic, warm, and welcoming fall equinox! 🍂💛🙏✨🔥
Talking to & filming with the beautiful @cammocarter11 from @sohowineco today about a new release wine that is doing something VERY important. The video will be edited & up soon but believe you me I will be talking about this wine A LOT in the coming weeks! 😊🍷#PinkSheep#Rosé#SOHOWineCo
This one is a NO BRAINER: A new BMJ study is showing that even moderate amounts of alcohol consumption has adverse effects on your brain.
Obviously alcohol is a toxic substance to your body - so much so, that when you ingest even a small amount your body goes into hyperdrive to break it down before it does harm, de-prioritising other healthy functions of the LIVER!
This bullshit about "red wine is healthy" is such delusional rubbish that Wine Drinkers WANT TO BELIEVE in order to justify their wine consumption. Even two glasses of red wine knocks out your liver for DAYS. So obviously, it's also messing with your brain.
Resveratol in red wine, my ARSE! There is tiny amounts of polyphenols in red wine, you would get far more eating your nuts & vegetables.
Studies have shown direct correlation of alcohol consumption to increased cancers, fatty liver, kidney failure, brain disfunction, early aging & age related illnesses etc. So, which one would you like?

@davidperlmutter weighs in in this video:
So far away but still so near
The lights come up, the music dies
But you don't see me standing here
I'm in the corner, watching you kiss him
I'm right over here, why can't you see me,
And I'm giving it my all, but I'm not the guy you're taking home,
I keep dancing on my own...
2011 chateau des eyrins, Margaux
Nose is very perfumed and fresh with flowers, cherry, sweet tobacco, and mint.
The palette has nice tannin structure with Blackberry, cassis and pencil shavings. more earthy tones coming into play here. A fantastic wine from a fantastic region. An excellent bottle to get someone hooked on good Bordeaux without spending a lot.
