hear Smith & Whitaker, and @the_black_tones LIVE on RainierAvenueRadio
TuneIn 7-9pm PST
RSVP to attend in person at 23rd & Jackson #Seattle (email RainierAvenueRadio.World@gmail.com). The Black Tones was started by twin siblings Eva and Cedric Walker. Born and raised in first generation Seattleites, the rest of their entire family is originally from New Orleans, LA, which shaped their musical style of blues and rock n roll. They are joined by bassist Robbie Little and occasionally blues bassist, Giordan Montero.
They have opened for bands such as NighTrain, Tacocat, Hot Panda, Mommy Long Legs, The Pauses, The Rockonigles, and many others. The Black Tones were featured in the production of "Dear White People" in a total of four sold out shows at the Theatre Off Jackson.
Their album "Mr. Mines" was featured on the The Seattle Public Library Playback series as one of 50 chosen albums representative of the Seattle music scene. This year, the band made their first television debut on Band in Seattle on CW 11.
In the summer of 2016, The Black Tones earned their first movie credits being featured on the soundtrack for the indie movie “The Noise Made by People.” You can also catch Eva in the upcoming film documentary “Nice & Rough: Black Women in Rock” produced by Sheila Jackson.
One of their most memorable moments was performing their song “Woman in Black” with the students of School of Rock Seattle in a showcase the school put on dedicated to front women in rock n roll.
The Black Tones continue to amplify throughout the Northwest, headlining shows regularly all across the region. The Black Tones are a goody bag of BLUES, PUNK and BLACK POWER.

@tofinofishguides I think I found a lovely Tyee. Sadly, I don't think @seattleaquarium would appreciate me catching it....
It's just awe inspiring... the majesty and beauty of these fish that live among us. How many of us think of the great beauty that lives in some cases literally at our doorstep? #pugetsound (not pudget @muhhamad_349 , close though! I get why you could've thought it) #seattle#seattleaquarium#pacificnorthwest#underwater
