Head of the @facebook News Feed, Adam Mosseri published a post on Janurary 11 on the Facebook Newsroom site that discussed the news feed update that is rolling out. His first line of his article “News Feed FYI: Bringing People Closer Together” clearly shows the reasoning behind the update. It reads: "Facebook was built to bring people closer together and build relationships."
How does a brand keep this from happening? BY ALWAYS PUTTING OUT CONTENT TO THEIR AUDIENCE THAT IS STRICLTY BENEFICIAL TO IT’S BUSINESS. Not all brands do this, but a whole lot do. You’ve seen it right? Those brands that try to sell with every post they publish on Facebook or any other social media platform. If two brands are compteting for the attention of a similar audience, the brand who is providing the most value will win overtime. That is what we believe. Facebook’s news feed update will challenge the brands that do not adjust and/or the brands that never try to provide value.
Adam Mosseri also states:
"Because space in News Feed is limited, showing more posts from friends and family and updates that spark conversation means we’ll show less public content, including videos and other posts from publishers or businesses."✔💡😱
I'm often asked if content marketing is measurable. The short answer? Yes. The long answer? You can measure how many inbound links are bringing traffic to your website, you can measure how many page views your social media channels are getting per month, you can measure how many new visitors you are getting versus visitors who have already been to your site, and you can measure your email open rates. Content marketing is a big picture made up of hundreds of moving parts. On the surface, it can seem impossible to measure everything that is happening. But it can be done, and it can yield tangible results for your business. - Dee ↗️☕

It’s 2018, please understand people hate when you keep spamming them with ads asking people to buy from you. People want to know, they want to be understood, and they want to have their problems solved. This is why you provide value first! Show them you understand them, educate them on the problem, and show them how to genuinely solve it with what you provide. This is how you build consumer trust and build up authority in your field.
