Jesse Ugstad 
I always wanted that "perfect body" so to speak. I would go through Instagram just looking at all the strong, successful and confident men in the fitness industry. Being the "skinny kid" I felt doubt as well as some disappointment in myself. Why couldn't I be one of those guys? Why couldn't I have the body that makes people take a second glance? I kept this mindset of thinking life was unfair while not trying to better myself. I knew I had to change. 
One day when I was browsing through Instagram I came across JB; to say the least I was very impressed. After messaging him and chatting (about fitness stuff), I knew he was someone I would love to work with. He then mentioned he coached and I was obviously interested! One thing led to another and soon I was on his program. Highly effective and easy to follow, I started to see my body change. As I write this I am nearly 19 and a year and a half into my fitness journey. JB helped me get started and I consider him an important role model in my life. I know there's a lot of greatness ahead and I'm thrilled it all started with JB.

@beyondthebestofficial bands for my first occlusion training session yesterday. I gotta say I'm a fan... they are easy to adjust and gave me a nasty pump to finish off arm day! Will keep testing them on myself before soon adding this technique to some of my clients programs.

Occlusion training is an advanced training technique where you wrap a band around the body part you train to keep the blood from leaving the muscle through your veins. What that does is allow the byproducts of the working muscle (like lactic acid) to build up within the muscle causing an anabolic effect. It works well if you use them to do several high rep sets (12-30reps) with very short rest intervals (30-45 seconds).

Try this:
Near the end of your training session wrap your bands around your upper arm just above your biceps and triceps in the smallest part of the upper arm (if it's arm day) OR wrap them around your upper leg as high up as you can go (if it's leg day). Do four-five sets in this fashion with light weight (it gets heavy fast!😂)

Finished off my first week in my new home in Colorado. I took full advantage of all the beauty this place has to offer this past weekend. You can absolutely have the physique you want and also experience life to the fullest with proper preparation and will power. This weekend I made it out to the club twice with out drinking any alcohol and took an over night camping trip with my brother and new friends to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We even got to kick it in some super dope hot springs to finish it all off. I ate all my meals that I packed in a cooler and took with me and lifted every day. You really can live an awesome rich lifestyle while staying fit.

Finished out my gaining phase at 220... Feeling happy with the muscle I put on... prob about 8 pounds lean body mass since November. Time to start shredding up a little for summer while keeping the calories high enough to gain a couple more pounds of muscle before summer. Have to set high goals to each high success💪💪 Contraction was the name of the game on chest day today. Carb cycling:

Carb cycling is the structured manipulation of your carb intake over the course of several days to help promote continued fat loss through boosting the mother of all fat burning hormones: leptin

Carb cycling can be useful if you are trying to lean out and are in a caloric deficit. My simplified take on carb cycling is incorporating re-feeds (days where you double-triple your carb intake from your normal amount every so often). Re-feeds should be incorporated once every 4-14 days depending on how lean you are. If you are under 10% body fat I would stick to the lower side of that. If you are 20% body fat or greater I would keep to the higher side.

Re-feeds should be planned for days where you train a lagging body part because the higher carb intake is quite anabolic. For me when I'm dieting down I re-feed on arm day since my goal is to grow them most.
----------
To calculate your macros for re-feeds use this method: multiply your normal low carb intake by 2-3 depending on your body type. If you are an ectomorph multiply your carbs by 3. If you are an endomorph multiply your carb intake by 2. If you are a mesomorph multiply your carb intake by 2.5. For me since I am an ectomorph I multiply my normal low carb macro amount: say 200g per day times 3 giving me 600g per day.

Protein should be kept to 1g per pound of body weight (less than what your intake should be for low carb days)
----------
Fat should be kept to a MINIMUM on re-feed days because fat does nothing for boosting your leptin levels (our #1 goal with re-feed days)

If you are an ectomorph multiply your carbs by 3. If you are an endomorph multiply your carb intake by 2. If you are a mesomorph multiply your carb intake by 2.5. For me since I am an ectomorph I multiply my normal low carb macro amount: say 200g per day times 3 giving me 600g per day. ---------- Protein should be kept to 1g per pound of body weight (less than what your intake should be for low carb days) ---------- Fat should be kept to a MINIMUM on re-feed days because fat does nothing for boosting your leptin levels (our #1  goal with re-feed days) ---------- Long post I know but it's a lengthy topic! To answer this question simply every one is different so no two peoples diets should look the same. You need to factor in things like schedule, goals, metabolism, lean body mass, body fat, training volume, activity level, gender and age.

To really come up with your perfect diet you need to sit down and build a specific plan based on these factors. You need to calculate it with the right formulas while keeping it realistic and not overwhelming yourself with too big of a lifestyle change.

Topic of the day: Meal Frequency (Eat More Meals To Get Shredded!!)
👊🏼Eating consistently every 2-3.5 hours will help you stay more shredded.
Think of your metabolism like a fire... if you constantly consistently stoke it with more and more sticks it will burn hotter and faster. On the other hand if you throw a big heavy log on a small fire it will go out just like eating a big heavy meal cannot be metabolized for energy immediately so it will get stored as fat. Moral of the story: eat small meals frequently and avoid large heavy meals aka #caloriebombs
