Let dementia sufferers find new #love in care #homes , Alzheimer's #society says... People with dementia should be allowed to have relationships with other care home residents as it gives them the comfort and affection that nurses can't provide, the Alzheimer society has said.
Carers are too often concerned that the relationships are inappropriate and try to keep new #couples apart causing unnecessary #suffering , the charity warned.
Kathryn Smith, Director of Operations at the Alzheimer’s society, said that couples were separated “quite frequently” by #staff who believed that they were “#obliged ” to put an end to the relationships.
The charity is calling for widespread training and support for staff to make sure that carers are “respecting the dignity of the individuals involved and their rights to a human relationship."
“People in a care home are still seeking human intimacy. That is quite natural to the end of life usually, and quite often their realities can be quite confused. source: Georgia Graham #grandmadaisyisms#healingtouchcompanion @black_eagle_investment_
Tis the season to celebrate. Tis also the season to think about 2018 and how you’re going to market. My prediction for the new year is that it’s going to become more and more important to market to and communicate with existing clients / connections vs “lead generation”....and back to the festivities: what’s your favourite drink?
