The last few weeks have been big for Jim and I, with some changes (for the better!) - but, as we all know, change means taking time to adjust. Growing pains are real, and sanctification ain't fun. But in all this change, there is faith, and in that faith, there is growth. All I know is I'm thankful to be doing life with the most faithful and loyal man I know. Thankful to be known and loved by you, Jim Hurt. Let's keep on keeping on. #kenzgothurt#forever#homesweethurt

Once upon a time, there lived a lovely couple who led a peaceful and happy life. One fine day, the wife finds out that she is pregnant and the husband is very happy to receive the news. They celebrate the moment and he takes very good care of her. But one day, he announces that he wants a baby boy and if a baby girl is born, he wouldn’t even look at its face.

I've been struggling with my purpose as a playwright lately but I attended the LAB25: Full Circle event at Cherry Lane Theatre tonight and I was reminded of the importance of story telling, the importance of TELLING STORIES. David Deblinger and Fred Johnson pulled me so deeply into their moment that I lost all sense of time and space and my heart stopped beating for a moment...just so it could sit...and listen. To be in a space with a community with such deep roots was like medicine for my disgruntled artistic spirit. #labtheater#storytelling#oldschool#playwright

O que acham?
Most of the side of Langkawi island and as a goodbye gate after much time spent exploring mangrove forests, swimming of monkeys, hawks flying and many other flora and fauna.
With a speedboat, we swayed on it. Screams of pleasure and fear of falling mixed with a very strong wind. Not to mention the splash of sea water that is not rare to water us.

I'm still thinking about an amazing night last night.
Firstly, for the new WIFT Vic board to be announced, standing up with some amazing women ready to take on the world.
And to top if off, a Q&A with the Director, DP, Associate Producer and Set Designer from Wentworth, all who happen to be badass women smashing the screen industry!
AND Sigrid Thornton was there representing the cast, being her usual, incredible self.
I can't explain everything to you now. How this place is so beautiful, how I have a dragon friend who trusts me. But I can tell you that you can have it too. And I can tell you that I can be your friend too. @miladreams_
My mornings have been full of editing, emails, and wedding timelines followed by afternoons full of kiddos, homework, soccer, and dinner all ending with more editing and emails once everyone is asleep. This has been my schedule and will only continue to have things added in once the house construction and wedding season both start picking up pace. Hectic? Nah. 🌿This journey is a great one and I am beyond blessed with the schedule that I have created and the opportunities that lye ahead for not only me and my business but most importantly for my family. ✨You have control of your happiness in your heart and mind. Embrace your busiest and slowest moments in life, after all it is YOUR life!
Once upon a time, at the airport....
There was a man who lived in a tiny green house on the ceiling. He worked there, drilling on the ceiling all night. He slept during the day. Some say he was a vampire, and this was the only job he could find that kept him out of the sunlight.
But the man wasn't a vampire.
The man, was in love.
Below him, on the ground floor, where the busy citizens walked in and out, in and out, in a hurry, hurry, hurry, there worked a red-headed girl at the Horizon Bakery Cafe. Her name was Katrina. He often read her name-tag over and over from above, wondering what it would be like to be next in line, and say her name. "Hi Katrina," he daydreamed, "I'll have a blueberry muffin, please... and by the way... you're beautiful, you know." He blinked.
It was time to start drilling. He opened up the case on the right side of his hip and pulled out his tools. He peered down at Katrina as he got to work. She was walking to and fro, filling coffee cups, giving them away, occasionally brushing against a stranger's hands. "I'm Manuel!" he wanted to tell her.
Hours went by. His little green house floated to different parts of the ceiling. Screws went in. Metal stuck to metal. Holes vanished.
Katrina served a danish, or 30.
He grew tired. She took off her aprin. The night shift, ending for them both. She let out a gasp, "Another useless night," she thought. "Another beautiful sight," he thought. *** A short story inspired by the wonderous @earthcurious, who, when I asked how to spend my long wait time at the airport, told me to write a story about things I see and send a picture to match. Love you sister. Creativity feels good.

We can learn so much when we talk to someone else we don't know. We all have a story that can inspire someone else, and we need to give the time to one another to listen to one another's story.
For example, I spoke with someone I work with who survived the Vietnam war as a civilian. The stories he shared with me realized he truly is a man who overcame so much death and destruction around him. I wouldn't have known that about him if I hadn't given him time to share it with me.
We all have stories of how we overcame something, we just need to allow one another the time to speak. We need to open our ears more to one another. You'll be amazed what you can learn about someone else, and you'd might just understand their personality more.
A person's actions is best understood when you understand them. This is my favorite part of coaching people, hearing their stories and getting to understand them more.
How much we listen matters with how much we can respect one another. Listen more.
