Here's another little food tip!

I will occasionally buy a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.  I remove the skin and fat.  Then take the meat off the bone and chop it up into bite-size pieces. -
I spread it out on a cookie sheet to freeze instead of throwing it all into a baggie.  This way prevents one big ball of frozen meat.

Then after it's frozen, I throw it into a Ziploc baggie.  I can grab an amount that I want whenever I need it. -
I have a ready source of protein to go at any time.  Just a quick defrost in the microwave and I'm set for a salad or I can make a chicken salad with it or I can send it in my daughter's lunch.

I could easily cook a whole chicken or just chicken breast myself.  This would be even more cost-effective.  But sometimes convenience is worth every penny.

So sweaty! 6 miles- 15 minute w/u followed by 4x 5 min @ tempo, (2 min. rec), 2 × 400 @5k.  As I was finishing the second 400 Max started wailing, so no cool down. (In fact maybe the worst thing ever- right to the couch to nurse🤔) I wore my treadmill's heart rate monitor to ensure my recovery paces were actually recovery (130s). My heart rate for the tempo segments was 168 ish, and closer to 172 for 5k.  I'm planning on wearing the monitor more often to ensure that easy is ACTUALLY easy!

I have to admit that it hasn't been easy after the c-section, the broken foot and surgeries, the weight gain, and being far away from friends and family. I can't tell you how many times I've stood in front of the mirror and cried or had to change my outfit or how many times I've gotten frustrated because I wanted to enjoy the first months with my little one and go out with him, but I had to stay home  with my foot up. I'm the kind of person who wants to be active and go to work, and do this and that. But for the past 10 months, I've been very inactive, and it drives me crazy sometimes. At least I will have so many crazy stories to tell my little one when he grows up. I might never look the same again, but I'll have my little one to enjoy, Lord willing. The Lord is good all the time. 💙 #motherhood #mommyandson #momlife #proudmommy #strongmom

Do your run? Do you cycle? If so, the amount of time you spend moving straight forward and back can really begin to wear your body down. You must be strong in other planes of motion, too, especially laterally (side to side). .

Add in some lateral power and strength training into your conditioning plan, both double leg and single leg, as shown here. Being able to do movements like this with power, elasticity and strength will greatly reduce your chances of getting injured with your other sports! (And yes, my lateral single leg hurdle hops need work...super lame 👎🏻) 😜

I'm so excited 5 weeks into my new health journey & I couldn't be more excited about my results so far!!!🙌💓 I've tried just exercise, I've tried exercise & healthy eating, I've tried just using my health products & yes each time I've gotten some result but this time I put it all together plus this time I had a positive mindset & a belief that I could do anything!!👊 Putting these 4 tools together was a game changer for me & I feel better, stronger & healthier than ever before!!! 💪💓 After having my 3 kiddos I had convinced myself that my body was just how it was going to be that was just what happens after having kids. I get it all the time, how do you stay motivated?! How do you get yourself to push play and do the workout everyday?! Here is the secret!!! If you want to get in shape again, eat healthy, change your mindset around working out, feel confident in your clothes (and without clothes 😂) then you NEED to forget about your FEELINGS!

You may be surprised to hear that most of the time I don't FEEL like getting my butt kicked for 30 minutes and being sore all week.

I don't feel like choosing my chopped carrots over the cookies at the grocery store. I don't always feel like taking a few hours out of my week to plan and prep some meals, grocery shop, and make sure I make healthy choices! 
The thing is that i am willing to give up how I feel NOW for all the gains I will have LATER with consistency and perseverance!

In yesterday's workout, I changed up my deadlift programming. Way back when I had my 180lb PR I had been doing 5 reps each of 75, 80, and 85% of my 1 RM. followed by 2x10@60% 1RM. Which is what's seen here. I'm doing some research on what #startingstrength recommends for a female lifter doing intermediate lifts and has plateaued on the 3x3 rep scheme in linear progression. Meanwhile, I'll go back to this system and see how it goes. With that, yesterday's lifts were: deadlifts 5@116, 123, and 134lb then 2x10 @ 101 (shown here). Followed by bench at 3x2@80. ...
