Don't have a scale to measure out your protein? Not to worry, just use your hand to determine the amount of protein you need for each meal.
Hold out your hand and make sure your protein source is the size of your palm. Most women should have one palm size serving which will be around 20-30grams, while most men should double up and have two palms, equaling around 40-60grams.
What are the benefits of protein?
First, quality protein has a high thermic effect so you burn more calories eating protein versus carbs and fats. Second, it has a high satiety rate. This will keep you fuller longer and resist cravings. Lastly, it is the key macronutrient to help repair and build lean muscle.
You don't have to be tied up by what you once wished for. You don't have to punish yourself. It is okay to go for something else now that you know you really want.⠀
