This isnt a 'Then and Now' comparison.
This is an answer to the question that always pops up in my mind when I look at those very popular comparisons;
"How did you get from the 'then' to the 'now'? The picture on the left is from about a year ago,while the picture from the right is from now. Can you spot the differences? Theyre pretty subtle..but dont you think they make quite a difference?
So let me tell you how to improve you eye makeup game,the same way that I did!
I used almost all the same products in both the pictures so that it goes to show you that technique matters more than product.
1• Put a base down •
Your shadows need something to hold on to,and they will appear more pigmented on an even toned space instead of just your lid with its veins and natural texture. It will also hold the makeup longer. Use any eye shadow base available OR your concealer.
2• Pack on the color•
If youre working with colorful,bright shades than pack on the shadow in layers untill you have the color payoff that you desire. In the left picture I applied the turquoise shade once and move on. In the right,I applied it untill I had the right color.
3• Dont be afraid to spread out•
When youre blending the colors,its okay to blow the shadows out further than the crease. Itll make your eyes look bigger.
4• Inner corner highlight•
I Love inner corner highlights. Try it out. Youll love it. You can apply a white or nude pencil below the highlight to make it pop more.
Apply a layer of shadow and blend. And repeat. And then in the end,blend some more.
6• Your eyebrows are your bros•
I mean,take care of them too. In the left pic,you can see the neglected eyebrows are doing nothinh to bring out the eye shadows. Fill the eyebrows in the shape that you prefer so that they frame your eyes and your whole face.
7• Below the Eye•
If you have really dark circles like I do,then splurge on a good full coverage concealer. I have the @maybelline fit me on the left and @tartecosmetics shape tape on the right.
And dont forget you lower lash line! Apply all the eye shadows on the lower lash line that you did in the crease. And dont forget to add mascara!
