Managed to be a bit more productive today even thought I still haven't been to the gym or to school 👐🏽
I do however have a test in physics tomorrow so that's basically what I've been preparing for the entire day 🙄🙌🏽
Also starting to feel a bit better so I'm probably going to be back at the gym on Thursday which I'm looking forward to 😋
Fresh off the frame @ponystitches. Not the exact colours on the pattern (I had 3 exacts and colour matched the rest with what I had) I love him and the person I'm gifting it to once framed, will love him too. 💞
I haven’t posted on the blog in a minute and I’m sorry for the delay my loves. Life has been very busy - in the best ways. ❤️
On the brink of so much positive change, I decided to treat myself a week or so ago to @rupikaur_’s latest body of work, the sun and her flowers. Having read milk and honey with an emotional connection so deep that I gave it as a birthday gift for all the fierce females I know, I knew I had to pick it up.
Excited to dive into her words, I turned on my Anxiety Relief playlist and turned the pages of the first chapter. Compelled to finish her entire story, I stayed soaking in my bath until I read every word. I could feel her passion reaching out in every page - grabbing hold of my heart.
Beginning at Wilting and ending in Blooming, her symbolic meaning behind flowers is geared towards all the growth she has accomplished. Like turning the pages of my own heartbreak and emotion, Kaur is so authentic in her words that I felt myself intensely moved by her pain. By her ache, by her love for everyone and everything.
It’s incredibly validating to pick up a work of art and know you’re not alone in your struggle. That all this painful growth has beauty. Beauty in the form of art and poetry. Thank you Rupi for reaching into your heart and showing us what love looks like on each page of the sun and her flowers. Do yourself a favor and get a copy of this timeless treasure. You will find yourself referring back to it in times of darkness. Tap the link in my bio to read my full review! 🌻💕

From the beginning, to everything in between, to now. With athletics being a huge part of my life, basically the only thing that brought purpose to my life. Since I’ve decided to discontinue my running career, I’ve been “stuck” as to what my purpose is. But since I’ve come out to San Marcos from LA, over the last 3 1/2-4 months I’ve felt myself change. Priorities change. All sorts of things which makes me even more grateful for whoever is mentioned in this post, those people make me the 21 year old kid I am today.
Life isn’t easy but God only puts you in situations because he knows no one else in the world can handle them better then you.
I’m gunna try and be more active on this page with Tips for recovery, and Exercises to better your athleticism and see where that takes us! Happy Thanksgiving
This is only the 2nd day of taking this. It seems to have a calming effect and I've noticed I haven't had as much anxiety. Going to stick to two doses a day for a month and I'll update it here weekly for anybody interested in if/how CBD oil works ( it has studis to back up that it does work). I'm hoping this works well enough to kick my dependency on cannabis itself and also help with recovery for when I get back on the mats. #thecbdistillery#cbdoil#cbdslab#cbdhealth#bjj#jiujitsu#knowyourself#therapy
First: 🙋🏼♀️ I have LOVED getting to know all you other mommas out there that are at the same point in pregnancy as I am! So thank you for all the DM’s and keep them coming! • Second: 🙋🏼♀️ I was thinking the other day how similar pregnancy has been to back when I was prepping for a fitness competition! Sure I am gaining weight and the end game isn’t an insane Low body fat percentage or a six pack haha BUT the mental waiting game is the same! Day to day we feel like nothing is changing but then when you look back it’s shocking how much your body has changed! Pregnancy comes with weight gain whether you like it or not bc that baby is growing 😭💕🤰🏼 and I currently have the different trimesters and apps keeping my busy mind entertained and helping the time pass, but when it comes to fitness and getting into shape we often give up bc the day to day’s don’t give us a mind blowing change we were expecting! Expectations y’all!!! I don’t wake up one day..find out I’m preggo and then a few days or even weeks wake up with a kicking baby and an awesome baby bump.....So why do we figure that one day we want to get in shape but expect our body to give us change faster just because we want it? 🤷🏼♀️. Your body is an AH-MAZING thing that takes TIME to develop and change. I am so glad I don’t wake up 8months pregnant without the slow day to day progressions 😳🤣. It’s not just about our physical change but the mental changes taking place during those seasons.....So you may be pregnant and feel like it’s dragging or you may be on your fitness journey and feel like it’s dragging 🙅🏼DONT LOOSE sight of the end game and give your body the time it needs to change! Pay attention to your thoughts and embrace the changes in order to understand and get to know yourself better!! Bc one day you’ll wake up and you’ll be exactly where you wanted to be 💕 enjoy the days and make weekly goals or things to look forward too! Stay positive guys and find some support from people that have he same end goals as you!!! Mind-Body-Soul ...it’s the all about that Trilogy Health and growth 💕. Happy Thanksgiving Week!!!
It's true. I researched it. Some plants may even BENEFIT from being stomped on, as long as they're "established." All botanists agreed that if the plant has strong roots, it will most likely survive any stomping. They may look a bit pathetic for a couple of days, but they will rise again. Guys, Holy Shmoly. Do I even need to explain this analogy to you??? (You know I will anyway.)
We all take the occasional beating in life but if we have a strong established sense of self, we will always be able to rise up again and flourish. Also, the stronger our "roots" are, the more resilient we are. Let's commit to working on ourselves so that the next time we are trampled on (because it WILL happen), we stay down for a little bit but then we come back bigger and better.
It's starting! If it were up to me I'd spend all week cooking and baking but alas, real life. Until an Evolve Well Kitchen Delivery happens, it's just cranberry sauce and cauliflower casserole for this year.
My cranberry sauce is this:
🍁Bag of cranberries into pot with a bit of orange zest, cinnamon, and a dash of salt.
🍁Add about 1c water.
🍁Heat until berries burst, mash to desired consistency with the back of spoon. Allow to cool.
🍁Add raw local honey a bit at a time depending on your sweetness preference. This measurement varies widely. I like mine a bit tart but it's a taste and adjust method unique to your palette.
🍁OPTIONS: Add crushed pineapple. Add walnuts. Substitute honey with maple syrup or coconut sugar or some combination of those. If you're feeling frisky, try adding lime & jalapeño. Experiment! Mine is never the same year to year.
In other news, my world still feels overwhelmingandrawandhormonalandnosleepnosleepnosleep so I'm hanging in there with podcasts, therapy, and holiday Internet shopping.
And cranberry sauce.
YES, thank you for this important reminder, @marcird. There will more than likely be plenty of food-guilt comments in your orbit later this week, and you do NOT need to take that shit on. Reject the diet culture by saying, “I’m happy for the delicious food I got to eat over the holidays,” or “I prefer not to mix guilt with food.” 💜🥧🥑🍠🍪
