Sometimes the hardest ones to let go of are the ones that were never really yours.
Are we there yet?
Will I ever know?
Broken hearts break hearts.
This post is inspired by my dear friend Stephie Coplan’s song “Planet of Broken Hearts.” Sometimes it can feel like our world is filled with broken people. All we do is get our hearts broken, then turn around and break someone else’s, and the favor keeps getting paid forward on and on. I always imagine visually that, eventually, the cycle would come to a full circle, and the last person in the chain would break the heart of the first person in the chain, like a neat little package wrapping itself up. Of course, it’s probably not that conveniently resolved, but it’s an image I’ve had stuck in my head for a while. A planet of broken hearts sounds sad, but when you think about it, it’s more like a planet of healing hearts. I’m still convinced that, when it comes down to it, a broken heart gives us a chance to grow and heal better than we were before, giving us the tools we need to stop the cycle one heart at a time. Someday we’ll all meet someone, and abruptly, without warning, the cycle we were a part of will stop, and collide with the orbit of another. Until that day, be kind to each other while you heal. If we all caused a little less harm to each other, we’d all have a little less healing to do.
hahahaha ya’ll Pinot looks like some iced green tea I have absolutely done this. 😂😂😂😂
Miles Davis - Decoy. Released in 1984, on CBS. I've struggled with Miles Davis for a while, and only really enjoy listening to Sketches from Spain. I am quite willing to put my hand up and say "I don't like him!". But true to form I keep trying to find a way in. This album had such mixed reviews, it had to be worth a try. It's a fusion of Seinfeld funk, dodgy 80's synth, and jazz, that actually sounded pretty good. It was definitely a bit shonky in places. But on the whole I enjoyed it. It's a bit like the soundtrack to a classic 80's strait to video thriller. #vinyl#records#vinylcommunity#milesdavis#decoy#cbs#sketchesofspain#synth#jazz#seinfeld#soundtrack#movie#fusion#thestruggle
