Day 294- Happy Death Day (2017)
Starring: Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard and Ruby Modine
Directed by: Christopher Landon
Plot: A college student must relive the day of her murder over and over again, in a loop that will end only when she discovers her killer's identity.
Thoughts: I enjoyed this movie a lot more that I thought I would. It was really fun and the story was like a mixture of scream and groundhog day. Jessica Rothe was great in this, I'm going to keep an eye out for what she stars in next. I love time loops in tv shows and films, I'm surprised that it's taken this long for someone to make a horror version. My only problem with this movie is that the main character is called Tree, I would hope that this is short for a normal human name but I can't be sure.
Since it's almost Halloween I thought that the Black Swan would fit into Inktober perfectly. I've never seen the movie tho
(this is from 11th October, other Inktober drawings are coming up! Haven't given up yet 😅)
UNEXPECTED GREAT SUSPENSEFUL RIDE OF KING’S
Gerald’s Game • 2017 • Director: #MikeFlanagan • Writer: Mike Flanagan, #JeffHoward , #StephenKing • Casts: #CarlaGugino , #BruceGreenwood
I actually had doubt to watch it soon after released, not because the worries about book-film adaptation (I had never read even one of his), but I was feeling an uneasy distress and pain while watching the trailer and knowing how great the premise to make me feel horrible and cringe at it. But I finally had the guts and it was more than enough to drown me into a sick greatness.
Gerald and Jessie Burlingame, a married couple trying to reignite their relationship with a weekend getaway at a remote lake house. There, Gerald convinces Jessie to let him trying BDSM by handcuffing her to the bed. It’s a scenario that quickly goes from sexy to scary. The sudden thought revived from the past turns Jessie’s agreement to a refusal. Things get rough when Gerald against Jessie’s consent, resulting argument, and incite heart attack to him. Gerald fell down the bed, dead, and Jessie is left handcuffed to a bed, out of reach of a phone, no one else around for miles. From there, it becomes a psychological thriller about trauma and survival.
Well, I didn’t expect this turns out really good on screen. With this uncanny narrow space exploration of camera treatments which give you no pulse pause, the horror graduate Flanagan is leveling up himself as the one to look up to handle a suspenseful screen ride. Carla Gugino gives her best tour-guide skill in acting through the darkest moment of Jessie’s life that buried throughout her life which gives her the worst trauma.
I love how Flanagan narrates the visual of Jessie’s rumble mind battle. It gives me more questions about her state of mind, whether the tragedy caused delusion to her or she has a tendency in having schizophrenia (because of seeing and talking to unreal person). And also she has a doubt what is real and not. Well I’m not a psychiatrist so I just can assume w/o eligibility.
Oh and I won’t forget the sufficient portion of gore and the absurd man’s thrill which upset me in a really great way.

Day 292 - 30 Days of Night (2007)
Starring: Josh Hartnett, Melissa George and Danny Huston
Directed by: David Slade
Plot: After an Alaskan town is plunged into darkness for a month, it is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of vampires.
Thoughts: The acting in this movie is not great, I probably wouldn't even class most of it as good. But the way the vampires are portrayed in this movie is incredible, I love that they have their own language and don't just happen to speak English like everyone around them. They way they move around is so cool and it actually feels like all the main characters were in real danger of being killed. I think the movie was pretty great up until the last 20 minutes, where everything just gets stupid.
Can anyone recommend some other great vampire horror movies that I can watch. I've got Interview with the vampire to watch sometime this month but I really enjoy a good vampire horror.
If you know me, you'll know that if I posted my review here it means that I have no intention on making a video out of it whatsoever. And it is what happen with this movie xD Is it a bad movie? No, not really. I actually enjoy it. But it is mediocre and before the villain is revealed, I already had an inkling on who it was. I never liked movies that are predictable and this is exactly what it was. But it was a fun thriller, certainly entertaining in some parts and if you're looking for a good mix of humor and a little bit of horror, you found it. Just be careful, you might be disappointed once you realize it is just... not that good of a movie. Watch at your own risk. :p Have fun! #happydeathdayreview#happydeathday#moviereview#thrillermovie#thrillermoviereview#youtube#youtubelife (thanks @xephilim for inviting me!)
