So many people are still convinced than muscle weighs more than fat. Think about this logically how can something that weighs 5lbs weigh more than something else that also weighs 5lbs. Think of that old riddle when you were younger about 1 tonne of feathers and 1 tonne of bricks...which one is heavier? THEY BOTH WEIGH 1 TONNE!!.-

So what’s with the confusion? When people look to change their body composition they often look to weight training (as this is the best way to do so). When you weight train (providing your diet is in line with your goal) you will typically lose some body fat whilst gaining some muscle tissue. A lot of people’s weight can stay pretty similar because of this but their shape changes dramatically. This is because MUSCLE IS DENSER THAN FAT. So essentially when you lose fat and gain muscle the muscle takes up less space on your body which leads to that change in appearance. This is another reason why scales shouldn’t be the only way to look at progress as a lot of different factors come into your weight.-

Both of my pictures featured I actually weigh the exact same even though they are around 2 years apart. I built more muscle and reduced my bodyfat % giving the perception of me looking a lot heavier when in reality I’m the same weight. Don’t focus on your bodyweight, focus on how you look and how you feel.-

DAY FIFTEEN - So posting this two days late but I want to get all posts on the challenge done so it will just have be a late post 😅

Something New - found this a little difficult to find something that is new - but can across this.

We now have a “syn bin” this is not something that we have had on our journey’s before - we’ve never had a collect of treats that could work. But had a couple boxes of low syn treats so the “syn bin” was created. And it works so well and I know what I can have and when I can have it to fit in with being on plan. Everything has the syn value written on it before it goes in.

Its the best I can do as i've totally ran out of food now !

In 6 hours time I will be home & I can food prep  properly for the next 3 weeks 👌

Eating clean is not rocket science... Sometimes it's just as simple as figuring out what you have in your fridge that hasn't gone bad yet 😂🤷‍♀️. .

Mango Steak salad .
• 2-3 Oz steak cooked in coconut oil or butter

•1 hard boiled egg .
• Red cabbage Sauerkraut
. • 5 walnuts •half an avocado
. • A few slices of mango
. • Red onion •arugula .
• Alfalfa sprouts
. •a few pieces of fresh fig
.
•dash of lemon and olive oil .

506 kcal, 33 g fat, 20 g carbs, 34 g protein. .

Perfect first meal/ post workout meal. So filling that I don't need to bring anything else in my bag after a workout, and I know I can make it until mid afternoon without eating again ❤️.

The office environment is regarded as one of the most sedentary places of work. People rarely leave their desks other than for toilet or cigarette breaks, or to take a short trip to the vending machine. Compound this is with habitual snacking and it's easy to see whilst people can put the lbs on without noticing.

So my top tips for the office worker are:
-
1️⃣ Move more - Every 45 mins, if possible try and walk around the office and stretch your legs. Maybe even go for a quick walk up and down the stairs

2️⃣ Prepare - Make sure that you plan and make your food the night before, or even make a few days of food in advance. This way, you are less likely to head to the vending machine for that chocolate bar, or nipping out for a “snack”.

3️⃣ Get out - If you get an hour for your lunch, then why not spend 30 mins of that walking around and getting some air.

4️⃣ Say no - If Sheila from accounts brings cakes in every Friday, then don’t be afraid of saying no from time to time. She won’t be offended of you word it nicely and explain the reason why. In fact, research has shown that people bring cakes into the office not from the goodness of their own heart, but because they feel less guilty about eating cakes when surrounded by others doing the same.

5️⃣ Stand up - More and more offices are getting “active desks”, which mean you stand up and work instead of slouching on a desk chair. Whilst this might not be for everyone, its much better for your posture and you actually use more calories than sitting down.

6️⃣ Water - Keep a 2l water bottle at the side of you and sip it throughout the day. Like the foods that get eaten subconsciously, you will do the same with water, except water has a lot more health benefits. Aim to drink 2-4 litres per day.

I write this because I want to be raw with you, raw to the fact that if you are going through this, there ‘is light at the end of the tunnel’. However you do have to work towards it every single day.

Think outside the box. How can you fix the way you feel.. get a nutrition plan, get a workout plan, see a physiologist. 🙋🏼‍♀️ I have. It’s okay to get another perspective. Don’t get stuck in this negative mindset with yourself, do not self destruct.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have days where I fall into the ‘old me’ and these words slip into my mind but I still work on changing it.

Those phases can highly hurt in life but they teach you lessons & make you stronger.
