"I'm a journalist who loves travelling as much as spending time with my furry family. Pondi, Marco-Polo and Tigress are the #dogs I rescued (or more aptly, they rescued me) and soon became my very own family. In July Pondi, who was 8 years old, passed away unexpectedly. My #husband and I were shattered by this. This was the start of our journey to heal by travelling as a family together. Our first trip was from Delhi to Madgaon which included a 30 hour long train journey. We spent close to 5 weeks road tripping around Goa and that’s when I realised dogs make great #travelbuddies . The time we spent together gave us the room to heal from the loss of Pondi and bond as a family. It almost became infectious— the cuddling, hiking, long walks by the beach, watching sunsets together, basically involving the dogs in activities we love. Soon there were more trips which they became a part of— Jaipur, The Goat's village, Uttarakhand, Shekhawati in Rajasthan, the Landour mountains in Uttarakhand where we hitchhiked most of the way. This year has been tough for me and my husband as we also lost our baby when I was 40 weeks pregnant. It's not easy to get over these losses, but travelling definitely helps. To experience the beauty of the world along with your family is truly #therapeutic . It has been one of the toughest years of our life, but the dogs never let us give up. There cuddles and hugs remind us that we are a family that sticks together and still has lot of love to give.. Like I said, they rescued us."
