I've finished eating breakfast and I'm looking forward to trying out my new telephoto lens from the cliff side pool area. I've got a cool M.Zuiko 40-150mm Pro lens that's gotten rave reviews on Micro 4/3 camera forums. Its a remarkably compact lens and makes a great choice for travel photography like mine. The Olympus MC-14 1.4X teleconverter extends that range to 210mm for a 35mm format equivilent of 420mm. Thats a pretty good reach in a very compact and light piece of glass compared to its far larger & heavier 35mm format glass. A higly cropped image still maintains good sharpness. I've planned to try and shoot some Surfing images while I'm in Bali because of the large community of Surfers here. This boat catches my eye first, far in the distance. #bali#balilife#boat#indianocean#ocean#fisherman#fishing#fishingboat#indonesia#travelphoto#travelphotography#telephoto#blue#wanderlust#uluwatu#uluwatubali#uluwatubeach#tropicalvacation#color
Day 678: Supporting the local kids is certainly a double edged sword. While it is human nature to help those who are less fortunate but free handouts simply create a negative feedback loop that encourages begging instead of fostering proper work ethics. Most parts of Africa certainly relies on international aid however is the sympathy of those living in the rich world really helping Africa in the long term?
4,994 miles 📍 Paris, France | We stayed in a lovely @airbnb in the 10th arrondissement which is north of The Louvre. It was a pretty central area and close to the Gare du Nord which made train travel simple. Every morning I ate yogurt with fresh strawberries and some sugar (the French yogurt was pretty tart but they come in little glass jars I took home as souvenirs)! Even though France has delicious food there's something nostalgic about preparing a couple meals at home! 🍓
