His mural for #starthyd 2017 aims to bring back to life the recent past of Maqta as a lush green village, now instead transformed into a jungle of buildings. His wall, is a part of the Blue Plaza at the #maqtaartdisrtict and the largest the artist ever painted so far. 📸 @pranavgohill

If you’ve spent any time in Lower East Side or Bushwick/Williamsburg, you've more than likely seen at least a wheat paste by @saraerenthalart. Her work covers the streets of New York City in the form of her wheat pastes, murals, and her drawings on trash. In an interview with @hey.alma she states “art was always part of my heart” and that is evident in her raw works that have helped her heal after escaping from the Neturei Karta when she was 17. Much of her imagery represents herself but also all women. This particular mural is about spreading female empowerment as she wants to remind all women that they matter and that she matters as well. The mural is also about individuality as all women are unique and she wants to remind us to be proud of our bodies. Her passion for art and her processing of displacement, survival, and liberation are powerful. I am always looking forward to the next piece by her that I will find and always curious as to how I will find it!
