As a proud #USMC#veteran who was discharged under "DontAskDontTell". Today was extremely emotional for me I have been trying to make sense of the action of an ignorant man advised by more ignorant men. I have shared my story w many of you , I was an honorable Marine w honors and meritorious promotions yet I wasn't allowed to continue and fight for my country once I came out AS LGBT . I AM FURIOUS !! About this new development, I know how it feels to have your career taken from you ... your identity taken from you ... and even your sense of patriotism. I also know and have seen first hand how committed the #LGBT service people are to the mission.
BUT.. I stand as a proud #AMERICAN LGBT VET BY THE AMOUNT OF SUPPORT I see from most Americans with brains ... it's hard to make sense of stupidity .. so I will just hope and ASK that all the people I see supporting LGBT via social media ALSO make a call to their #congressman and other political leaders OR THE WHITEHOUSE COMMENT LINE (202) 456 1111

It was an honor to have these men escort my family and I to my father's funeral. It was a powerful and breath taking experience. Below is a small part of their mission and link if you'd like more info.
Much love and repsect to Joker and all The Patriot Guard Riders...... Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:
1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protester or group of protesters.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.
To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.
Beard oil tests tonight at the bar. My olfactory senses have been assaulted, but in the end I finally picked one and I'm really excited to try it out! I picked Cuban Tobacco. It smells like a cigar shop. My beard oil "dealer" is gonna custom mix that scent with sandalwood, cedar, and bourbon notes to my liking for my next batch. If anyone else us interested in supporting an active duty lady that does aromatherapy on the side, please let me know. She works with lots of patients at Walter Reed and has had success using aromatherapy to help with PTSD, migraines, and plenty of other maladies for patients there as well as average Joes like me. She also makes balms and shave oil. Shoot me a DM if you'd like to know more! #beard#beardgang#operatorbeard#veteran (I'm not a veteran, by the way... But I love all my veteran friends!) #ptsd#beardoil#bourbon#fuckhashtags
It's been over five years since I got out of the Army, and whilst sitting here having my lunch, I've realised that it has only been in recent times that I've talked openly and proudly about my service.
Some of my favourite memories of my life are from the six years of full time service and three deployments that I served. Also within this time are some of the toughest lessons and experiences I have witnessed in others, and endured myself.
Everything has led to the man I am today.
I am proud to have served my country.
I am grateful for the life-long mates I have met along the way.
I am thankful that although some of my brothers lost limbs and were wounded physically, they could return home to loved ones.
However my heart is heavy for those that fought on foreign soil and never made it home.
It is saddening to know that most of my brothers in arms came home from war, but some are now fighting their own war within.
The prevalence of suicide in combat veterans in recent times is alarming, and something needs to change!
So spare a thought for a veteran. Combat veterans particularly!
They have done stuff that you could never imagine, and have been in situations that you would not wish on anyone!
Get ready...here comes my 2 cents:
I do NOT give a flying fuck who got my six, as long as I can thoroughly trust the person that's there. Man, woman, gay, straight...whatever.
However, last I checked...being transgender is almost always a mental disorder, in which case I wouldn't want someone with a mental disorder to have my back. Simple as that.
#USBank and #TheVAMortgageMan had the pleasure of hosting the #VBN Veteran Business Mixer for the month of July at the beautiful Sky Lounge in downtown #Brea . THANK YOU to all that came and networked the night away! We had a great turn out, and so many #Veteran organizations were present supporting their cause to help #Vets ! BIG thanks for all that helped make this night possible! Looking forward to see which other companies/organizations agree to step up and sponsor one of these events! #vetshelpingvets#Vetstrong#military#tierneycenter#VA#VALoan
