❌warning long post ahead ❌This journey. It's been something I tell ya. So many emotions. So many ups and downs. But through it all, I've persisted. I've learned so much about myself, yet I have so much yet to learn. Loving myself is probably the hardest thing for me. Why is that? ~~~
This journey started in 2012 when I saw photos from a family vacation and was mortified. I was over 300 pounds. I decided then that a change needed to be made, especially if we wanted to continue to grow our family. I lost some weight, but 2013 was filled with many ups and downs including a miscarriage in August of 2013. I then had another miscarriage in January of 2014. As difficult as those losses were, it lit a fire in me. I started Zumba in February of 2014 and from there things grew and the weight started to come off. By the time we got pregnant again in the summer of 2014, I was down to somewhere between 215 and 220. I continued to workout and do Zumba through pregnancy and gained about 25lbs during. In April of 2015, a healthy baby boy joined our family. I bounced right back after and got back to my weight loss goals. Last year I got to my lowest weight of about 145.... it's gone up and down since then. Today I'm up to about 160. It's so frustrating to see photos from a year ago and know I was smaller. To have jean shorts from last summer be tight just kills me. I don't even know what is happening. I'm working out, I'm eating healthy but it seems since Adam and I went to Mexico this last spring, the weight just keeps adding on. I want to be back to 150 so bad. At the same time, I am trying so hard to be thankful for where I am at. I remember my ultimate goal in the beginning anyways was to get to 165 which was half my body weight so I guess when you think about it, I'm still HALF my fricken size. That 331lb girl would have just been excited to be in one-derland. I'm trying to remember that and trying to tell myself it's ok but dang it it's hard. All I can do is keep on keeping on ❤️ Thank you all for being here with me 😘

aworkoutroutine: ➡️People love to divide foods into two categories: good or bad.
🤔The good foods are ALWAYS good, and the bad foods are ALWAYS bad.
🗣In fact, the bad foods are often claimed to be universally bad for EVERYONE... in EVERY context... 100% of the time... always and forever... to infinity and beyond.
And while this "black or white" line of thinking is nice and convenient, there's just one small problem with it...
✅The reality is, the majority of foods in existence are NEUTRAL in and of themselves. What determines if they are "good" or "bad" is the specific needs and preferences of the person eating them, and the context by which they are being eaten within that person's overall diet.
1️⃣Is gluten bad? That depends. Do you have a legitimate gluten allergy or intolerance? If not, it's perfectly fine.
2️⃣Is dairy bad? That depends. Are you lactose intolerant? I am, so I avoid it... but I'll still be the first person to tell you that dairy is perfectly fine otherwise.
3️⃣Is a high protein diet bad? That depends. If you have pre-existing kidney problems, it may be. But if you don't, 100% of the research on higher protein intakes (even as high as 1.5g of protein per pound:) finds it to be completely safe/perfectly fine.
4️⃣Is diet soda bad? That depends. Are you a rat who's consuming more of it than a typical human? Because that's currently the main scenario where "bad" effects have been found. -
5️⃣Is stress bad? YES. Want to minimize it? Cool. Start by realizing that CONTEXT IS KEY, and a food being "bad" for the minority doesn't automatically make it "bad" for the majority.
Too many times I have to explain to people that it's not a single macro that makes you gain weight but rather an excess of calories
👉Nutrition is complicated and confusing only when you think about it through an overly reductionist or absurd point of view. As soon as you see that when it comes to eating, everything matters, the easier it becomes to figure things out, and get it right.
👉If you think fat makes you fat, or carbs make you fat, or fruit makes you fat, or any of these stupid, inane, cosmopolitan things, you need to stop following whoever told you this immediately. When it comes to weight loss calories count, but so does the quality and content of what you eat.
🥑Certain foods affect us in certain ways and vary from person to person. Some people do well with moderation others with restriction. There is nothing wrong with either approach. Just as some people prefer to count calories, while others enjoy fasting, or, to them, more convenient or practical forms of portion control. --
When you understand principles tactics can vary, and should. Not everyone is the same. A big part of nutrition involves being a detective, sometimes looking BEYOND nutrition (sleep, stress, etc) and investigating approaches to find what works for you, without being suckered into to unsupported, dogmatic, and often dangerous beliefs. --

Constipation is your colons worst enemy!
Having regular bowel movements allows for your colon to dump waste and keep clean. However when stool sits, bacteria builds and overtime becomes stronger, causes inflammation and eventually could cause cancer!
To avoid any of these issues Incorporate a freshly squeezed lemon into your morning glass of water. Lemons are a natural digestive aid as the acidity in lemons increase hydrochloric acid production allowing your to digest and absorb more nutrients!

Um, I adore this little list!!! Be right back... gotta workout now. 😂💪🏻🙌🏻💯 Seriously though, somedays it's super freaking hard to dig deep and find that motivation to workout. That's why creating the HABIT and discipline of working out is so important.
So keep at it!!! You've got this, boo! 😘
I've been testing out our 30 day challenge meal plan this last week. I did an InBody last Thursday and came to do one this morning. I started the meal plan Monday and this is what I've lost since then.
I'm eating between 1,600-1,900 calories a day and a lot of good healthy fat!
I'm not starving, the food is delicious and super easy to prep for a couple days in advance!
Super excited to get the challenge group put together and going on the meal plan! Ketones are a part of the meal plan and are 22% off through the end of tomorrow. So if you haven't gotten yours make sure to place your order! (Link in profile)
