Loving these Schmincke Akademie Colours!
They look silky on the pans, re-wet easily and mix very well.
The Image comes from a colouring page by @poli.bright.art (Thanks so much for making this available!) Swipe left to see the colours I used -from this gorgeous rainbow Schmincke tin, that they issued in 2017 for their 125th Anniversary.
You can see swatches in my feed.
If you want one of those 🌈 watercolor boxes (with the paints), I was lucky to find a handful and have them for sale.

Playing around with my new Princeton #12 Round brush I got for Christmas. Love the color palette, too. I’m focusing on making sure the color combos coordinate. For this practice, I tied the colors together by mixing New Gamboge with Grumbacher Red and Pthalo blue to create the oranges and greens in the piece.
It might be a rainy day in Dublin, but that’s not going to stop us from exploring! The pints of Guinness are keeping us nice and toasty. 😉
Our AirBnB is in Temple Bar, which is such a fun place to stay! Raise your hand if you prefer staying in AirBnB over hotels when you’re exploring a new city 🙋🏻♀️
#594 - We hope it’s chips
Here is another food/cooking sketch from last night. I was waiting for some chips (french fries) to cook and thought I'd use the time to sketch. The hob is black, as are the gas rings so the whole drawing ended up pretty dark! The title comes from an old TV ad in the UK when some builders in the back of a van sung "we hope it's chips, it's chips!"...can't even remember what they were selling but the song always comes to mind when I am cooking chips.
Day 19 #makingarteveryday
The last 2 days of food sketches were practically begging to be rounded off with something sweet. These truffles are a family favorite. I believe that we first tried them when my daughter was in 2nd grade and decided it was mandatory to include her teacher's favorite candy in the Christmas gift. The truffles were so yummy that we bought in bulk the next year & included some in each teacher's gift. The kids were especially tickled the first time we stumbled upon the Lindt Chocolate Shop in the New Orleans riverwalk. Now they don't miss an opportunity to browse & of course have a free sample.
So many lovely subjects at this time of year! As well as my Winter Treasures I have been longing to paint some dark, papery roses that I have had for months (if not years!). Got started this afternoon. What do you long to paint?
