Here's my top posts for 2017 not including throwbacks (swipe to see individual posts). I was surprised to see that it really touches on everything I experienced in one way or another this past year. Incoming wall of text...
In regards to my art, 2017 has been REALLY difficult. I started the year seriously considering quitting due to failed expectations. In April I lost all my art when a hard drive failed. Data recovery was unable to help and I had no backup, which is so stupid. Thankfully Redbubble is really supportive and I retrieved most of my art. Next my website was locked down for almost 2 months. My host refused to help me and I was forced to switch companies. The hard drive and website cost me hundreds of dollars. Then I made updates to my PC, which resulted in my Cintiq glitching. Wacom was zero help and I had to downgrade. I got to the point where I would wake up and think "What's going to fail next?" The skull at the bottom was a way for me to deal with the feelings / emotions.
There have been highs of course. I've had a ton of support from friends and followers. The likes, comments, DMs, commissions, art purchases, etc. are a true encouragement. I have automated backup in place and my new web host is extremely helpful. I discovered how much I enjoy patterns, which was made possible thanks to my new iPad. In 2014 my friend @straylightv convince me to post / sell my art to help pay for an iPad. Surreal to meet that goal finally. Though I took a break from it, live streaming was an interesting experience. I stepped WAY outside my comfort zone and I met some groovy folks. The Derp Me project has been a lot of fun and I've met more awesome people as a result.
I start 2018 a bit nervous if I'm honest for a number of reasons, but I'm hopeful and excited. With all that said, thanks for reading. Thanks for joining me on this strange journey as I draw the random madness that pops into my abnormal brain. I truly look forward to sharing more art with you in the coming year! Thanks again, y'all!
