So thrilled to find my favourite Pierre de Ronsard roses growing on the sandstone walls within the garden. This, the second Government House building, began construction in 1855.

#roses #pierrederonsard #gardens #tasmania #tasmaniawhyweloveit #hobartandbeyond #hobartandsurrounds #uncover_tasmania #outandabout This is such a fabulous time of the year. Summer, sunshine and gardens looking great. My favourite rose - Pierre de ronsard abounds in gardens around my home. I’ve been growing this rose in a pot for a couple of years now and it’s finally taking off so I’m very excited about that.

Love this heritage home with red trim and enclosed verandah. Pretty garden that spreads to the riverside edge. Last image in this set of photos shows the view glimpsed from nearby this significant property.

#rosesfromtheheart #bonnets #transportedwomen #tribute #tasmanianartist #convictwomen Lovely to catch up with Helen and her husband today. Helen from New South Wales presented me with her bonnet tribute for her very own great, great, great grandmother Mary Ready/Reddy/Reidy transported aboard the Lord Wellington that sailed from Cork, Ireland in May 1819, arriving in New South Wales in January 1820. Thanks for the attached information and lovely photo of Mary.

#friends #gift #glass #glassetching #wineglasses #bonnets #rosesfromtheheart #roses A special gift from a lovely friend who has etched two wine glasses for me in memory of my ‘Roses from the Heart’ Memorial tribute project. One glass features roses on one side and a bonnet tribute on the other. The other glass features a bonnet tribute. So thoughtful. They are very meaningful.
