I highly suggest trying this 🍑 burner next time you're looking for a good ol' burnout or just a great exercise in general.
The idea is to do a sumo squat followed by a sumo straight leg deadlift and repeat that for however many times you want and then when you're getting tired switch to just doing sumo squats till you can't anymore. The burn is real.
I added the band for extra resistance and it really makes such a huge difference! I used a 34kg kettlebell for this exercise, mainly because they don't have heavier ones 👀
That feeling when you have a killer boxing training after a productive day, take a warm shower, eat and then just get comfy in bed and listen to some music + read. So content right now. The smallest things in life are truly the best 🙏 It's good to take a moment to appreciate them every once in awhile!
One of my fave supersets for the bootaayy and hammies.
➡️Banded goblet squats
➡️DB Straight leg deadlift (don't look up like I do, keep your neck aligned with your spine)
Doesn't have to be fancy to be effective.
The feeling when you send off an assignment you've been writing with your own blood, sweat & tears for the past 3-4 weeks. I feel like I can breathe again!! 🙌 Atleast for a few days before a new bunch of work is thrown at me 😂 Excited to hit the gym tomorrow and have a killer start to a new week!
Weighted HIIT; what could be a better way to end a torturous leg day than with a even more torturous HIIT. My legs were BURNING already before so you can imagine what I felt like after this. I was short on time after my workout because I had to run home to do essays etc so instead of a long HIIT I did 5 mins.
➡️ Burpee to a barbell swing (my brain is off I have no idea what the technical term is)
➡️ Sumo jump squats with a kettlebell
➡️ Sumo squat to an upright row with a kettlebell
➡️ Weighted jump squats
30 seconds on, 20 seconds off if you're short on time like I was. Repeat as many times as you want. 😈
Smashed a leg workout today before spending the rest of the day doing school work. I cannot put enough emphasis on how important (crucial even I'd say) it is to give yourself a few hours each day to focus just on yourself, give yourself a breather. Honestly I wouldn't survive right now if I didn't take the time to go to the gym everyday and kick ass. It gives me the energy to then tackle all my other tasks. If I only sat at my desk or at school for the whole day without any exercise I'd go crazy. Now, this can mean a walk for you or a yoga session. Anything that helps you clear your mind and move your body even a little.
Abaroooskies are going to be burning after this circuit!
➡️Dumbell straight leg + bent leg jackknife
➡️We TRX crunch
➡️Mountain climbers (but sliders)
You can either set a specific rep number you want to do for each exercise or do each exercise for 30 seconds. Whatever floats your boat 😉
Here's HIIT moves I did at the end of my session two days ago I think. I don't have much time to film anything at the gym anymore. I literally just run in and out as fast as possible. There was a point in my life when I thought I was busy, little did I know that time now feels like I was having a holiday 😂 Actually feels like I don't have time to breathe. I guess you have to put in 110% effort if you want to achieve your goals. Anywayyy here are the moves:
➡️Knee tap + push up + burpee
➡️In and out jump + snap jump
➡️From knees to a tuck jump
➡️From knees to a pistol squat
I was wearing my "killing workouts, not animals"- shirt today in boxing training and a woman came to ask me "Oh you're vegan? I'm vegetarian. You are muscular, you must pay a lot of attention to your protein intake" first I wanted to roll my eyes because honestly that's THE ultimate CLICHÈ every vegan is hears time after another. But she was genuinely just curious so I explained her: "It's very easy to get your protein in even if you are vegan. I mainly eat wholefoods, full grains, legumes and veggies and I get plenty of protein" and she was very impressed by that 😂 You don't have to eat corpses to be strong. Veggie power for the win 💪😎
Got inspired by @kaisafit to work on my mobility today after leg day. I find it so important to remember to stretch and foam roll but sometimes it's just hard to find the motivation and the time to do so. HOWEVER I want to stay flexible so I always find the time to stretch atleast 10 ish minutes after my sessions. You can also incorporate it to your workout like this so it becomes more fun and less of a chore 😉 I apparently can't place my phone on a straight surface so it's all wonky but heyho 😂
Not to brag but I think I make the best veggie soup. Warm & hearty soups are the best when it's cold and dark outside.
- Sweet potatoes
- Red lentils
- Coconut milk
I didn't put measurements because I honestly didn't measure them 🙈 Whenever I cook I just go by the eye and my taste buds. It turned out DELICIOUS though!
Hope you guys are having a relaxing weekend!! I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning. It's the little things you learn to appreciate the most in life. I also think those things are the best ones. When you get to read your favourite book while drinking tea, warm showers on cold days or sleeping in. What's your favorite "little thing"?
Abs abs abs! These are still one of my favorite core exercises when I'm going for something quick & effective and something that targets the whole core and not just a part of the abs. I usually do ab circuits meaning I perform multiple exercises back to back and then have a small break between the circuits, that way I can get a nice burn in the muscles I wouldn't get by just doing a single exercise. ➡️ TRX crunch to a pike
➡️ TRX mountain climbers
➡️ TRX side crunches
➡️ Push up with one leg elevated to toe tap
Two selfies in a row I'm soorreehh but just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy World Vegan Day! What a wonderful wonderful day to be alive. Let's remember to be kind to every kind. Not just the generic pet animals. They all deserve the same amount of love, respect and care. 🐷🐄🐀🐏🐇🐣🐟🐝❤️
Slowly getting back to normal after having food poisoning on Saturday and Sunday, still cannot eat half as much I normally would and working out is making me more gassed than usually BUUUT hoping to be back to 100% next week. It's not always rainbows and butterflies but that only makes you appreciate when you're feeling your best.
Been so freaking busy I haven't had time to post anything here and I got a food poisoning yesterday which has really been just wonderful... But here's my back workout from a couple of days ago! Such a killer workout.
➡️Chin up 4-5x max
➡️Bent over row 3x8-12 + 1x15-20
➡️ One handed bent over row with a stop at the bottom 3x10-12 (really focuses on using the back muscles as you have to stop the movement)
➡️Narrow grip pulldown 3x8-12
➡️ Rear delt row 3x12-20
➡️ Dumbbell back flys 3x10-15
➡️ Hammer curls on inclined bench 3x8-12
➡️ Dumbell bicep curls on the scott bench 3x8-12
These two moves are such great burners for the 🍑. Definitely felt it afterwards. Especially the second one really gets the heart rate up 💦 You can choose how wide you want your legs to be when doing the first exercises or you can do them back to back as supersets like I did.
