This is how I spend my evenings. Reading or watching documentaries.
In my African Humanities class I've decided to do my studies for the semester on the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I am a woman who loves learning new things and expanding my knowledge of the world however sometimes with knowledge comes the heartache of realizing what people have been through. This book is on the history of the DRC when King Leopold II colonized the area and the terrors he put into place. What happened to the Congolese people during that time makes me sick. Power and greed are prioritized over the well being of people so often in history and even today.
Made some changes to my room. I wanted it to be more homey and decorated with things I love so that it's a more relaxing space for me. Obviously there's lots of wildlife stuff in here. For example, this photo of me and my favorite lion in the world. She stole my heart over 2 years ago and she will always have it. Tonight I'll be studying French and reflecting on what's to come in the next year. Leaving for South Africa (for a year) in just 7 months... P.s,
That's a DSLR camera lens coffee mug From TJMaxx 😊❤ #love#smile#amazing#photo#photooftheday#fun#french#photography#relax#animals#selfie#cute#happy#photography
