Aaaand I’m sick 😷.

I want to preface this by saying that currently I’m feeling 20%-30% yucky. I’m not the type of person to wait until it gets really bad/have the cold or flu be full blown to take time off work. If anything is off within my body, I’ll notice it right away. And this took years of learning what your body feels like at its’ best and at its’ worst.
.
I believe if I took the time to rest my body before the cold or flue gets any worse, then I’ll actually only need a day or two before I can feel back to normal again. Many employers might not agree with me, and that’s why I’m so lucky to have a manager that understands and allows me this time to recover ❤️🙌🏻.

What’s your recovery method? Take time off right when you feel like your body is fighting something or wait until it’s super bad so that you don’t feel like a slacker at work?

If you’re still having a hard time, and ready to give up - please don’t! There must have been a reason why you chose those resolutions in the first place. Just know that success is not a straight upwards process, there are ups AND downs (and even zig zags!) One commonalities of high achievers is their unwillingness to quit. Also don’t be afraid to fail. Fail often, fail hard, fail forward.

Now that I’m starting to lift heavier, it feels like the food that I’m in-taking is burning up like tossing paper into a bonfire 🔥 🔥🔥🔥.

And this is just lunch. Picture does not include breakfast and dinner 🐷🐷🐷
Every time my coach @bgetsdrenched asks me how I’m feeling, my response lately is - HUNGRY! 🍜🍜🍜🍜. . So this hair is getting a little out of control 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Believe it or not, I actually prefer having short hair over long hair. I LOVE the feeling of a free + bare neck ❤️. So the reason why I let my hair grow this long is so I can donate it in a year or two to a charitable donation 💇🏻‍♀️.

Last time I sent my locks to Locks of Love. If you know a great organization you believe in (hopefully even in Canada 🇨🇦) please let me know! I’m a hair growing machine 💃🏻.

Another reason why I love flexible dieting - it offers me the freedom of variety 🙌🏻.

Personally I love using resistance bands during warm up to wake up my targeted muscles. Yes, muscles do grow when you lift heavy. BUT you’d need to be able to active them first. And by that I mean being able to make that particular muscle tighten with your mind 🧠. Now that’s mind muscle connection 💃🏻.

These bands come in a range of resistance weights as well as an array of gorgeous colours. They’re great for travel or at home exercises. Personally I like to keep them in my gym bag so I can make sure I have them with me for every workout 💪🏻💪🏻.

From scrolling through my feed and reading your new year resolutions and goal setting mindsets, to listening in to co-workers chatting excitedly about wanting to get back into the health and fitness lifestyle 🙌🏻.

I just want you to know, it’s never to late to start. Don’t feel like you need to get it done perfectly to keep going . And if life gets in the way (trust me, I feel you SO HARD on this one) just make the decision to hop back into your routine. The really hard part is getting started with any new habit or routine, but just look at it as a character building challenge! 💪🏻💪🏻

* I agree with the mentality that food should not be labeled as ‘good’ or ‘bad’.
* It forces me to learn about nutrition and it’s up to me to make the choices conducive to my goal.
* It allows me to eat with zero guilt.
* Popcorn 🍿

I haven’t been weighting/tracking my foods at all, I’m pretty sure I’ve been over my carbs and way under my protein this past month of December. I also haven’t been training consistently. Excuses aside, I let the ball dropped on that one big time. And ya, I feel guilty about it. Maybe I could have tried harder? But I didn’t, it is what it is, and “let’s move on from here.” said my coach. .
I just got a new training plan that I’m pretty excited about. It’ll save me a lot of time, but it looks pretty deadly at the same time 🙌🏻💪🏻💪🏻.

This year I’m committing to myself, I want to see my muscles grow. To not feel nervous when I see the scale go up during weigh-ins and stay consistent with my food and training. Trust the process ❤️

December has pretty much gone by in a blink of an eye. Work was intense with crazy over time, plenty of people around me getting sick, and spending time with friends and family, getting into the holiday spirit. Weighing/tracking my food as well as weight lifting, has been replaced with ‘intuitively’ eating Christmas cookies, and ‘lifting’ chocolate into my mouth...ifyaknowwhatimean 😂🙈🤦🏻‍♀️.

Yea I gained 3lbs and I don’t feel as lean in the morning sometimes. But seriously no regrets. I love my body in all its phases 💃🏻.

2018 is going to be a big year for me. I’m looking forward to putting on my weight, building more muscle, and lifting lifting lifting 💪🏻💪🏻.

Don’t brush aside the power of the New Year, since mindset plays such a big roll for us to achieve our goals, we can use all the help we can get. Even if it comes in the form of a once in a year resolution ❤️

Something you might not know about me: At one point, my parents enrolled me in a private school, which we later found out was a Scientology school 🤷🏻‍♀️.

We had to learn things like, being able to recite the alphabet really quickly...backwards. (Which I can still do! Wanna see?) I know there has been a lot of weird things circulating out there about L Ron Hubbard, but one thing I did love about his way of learning was that, everyone learned at their own level. He was big on individual testing and progression. His learning techniques also tailored more towards those who are more visual, which I really appreciated 💃🏻.

And no, I have actually not read any of his sci-Fi books 🙈
