Happy Friday ladies! On Friday’s we highlight an inspiring woman from this group to share her unique story and journey. Annette is excited to highlight her friend Rosa Hernandez with her unique story and amazing travel resume. She met Rosa several years ago on a ski trip through a mutual friend as they tried tackling snowboarding together. They learned that they had so much in common from childhood to travels including her growing up with her sister-in-law (small world). On that trip and another, strangers mistook them for sisters so they think we were destined to be friends! Read more about Rosa’s fascinating story below!
Hello, I am flattered to be included in this great group of woman. I met Annette on a trip to Lake Tahoe with our mutual friend Andrea. At the young age of 16, I wanted to travel the world to explore and experience new places and people. 29 years later I have visited so many countries more than I ever imagined I could. Globe trotting for me is a way to recharge and reconnect with myself as well as with friends and make new ones along the way.
In the past two years, I sold my home that I created with dreams of a different path. However, selling the home, gave me the freedom to travel to six countries (Banff, Canada; Israel, Jordan, Dubai, Thailand and Bhutan) the following year. This past year I started a side business as a Beautycounter consultant along with my full time position as a pharmacist. I’m excited about what I can do to create new ways to empower myself financially so that I can be able to travel. I’ve learned you have to let go to open those doors we thought were once permanently sealed. It’s about creating possibilities for ourselves that will allow us the freedom to fully express who we are. I am looking forward to sharing my journeys and reading about everyone’s as well.
On Friday’s we highlight an inspiring woman from this group to share her unique story and life journey. Today Jax is sharing her story with us. She's about to leave her life in NYC and embark on a journey to Sri Lanka. Read more about her fascinating story below!
I’ve always been nomadic but in the less romantic sense as in 4 high schools in 4 different states. To me a home was always the people instead of the place. Been on my own since I was 16, I’m long divorced, have a strong personality and am a big hugger. I’m a native NY’er from upstate and rerooted to NYC 5 years ago. I’ve worked in an office setting since my first job in my teens and am a corporate lady all the way, or so I thought. A trip to Sri Lanka a few years ago changed the trajectory of my journey, not realizing it until most recently. I’ve always been stressed, if my blood pressure was normal that meant I wasn’t working hard enough. Living in NYC is extremely stressful and I started needing trips away to reset. I found myself flying to Asia or SEA as often as I could and absorbing the cultures and way of life while becoming quite an explorer. This year a work project pushed me to my limits physically, emotionally, and mentally and took a sabbatical abroad when the project was complete. For 3 months I traveled and volunteered all over SEA, 7 different countries and 13 cities I worked, learned, ate, loved, and prayed and came out on the other end with a real purpose. This trip was the push I needed to take the leap into my new life. I realized I needed to take care of myself because there’s no one in the world that can be a better me than me and my strong personality and strengths weren’t being utilized. ~

Hi Ladies! Typically Friday’s we highlight an inspiring woman 👩🏻 from this group to share her unique story and journey. Since we have so many new members, Annette and I, the founders of She HIt Refresh, thought we should reintroduce ourselves and take the time to thank you. We are two friends 👯♀️ with a love of travel who decided to start an online community for like-minded women 30+ years old who want to break free from their routine and start a life of travel ✈️...and for those women who have already done so. This is a place to find inspiration, information, and support to help you in your own unique journey. A place to find women who get you!
We have big plans to grow this community in 2018 and bring you more valuable information to help you with your “refresh” goals. She Hit Refresh wouldn’t exist without you! So we want to end the last Friday of the year by thanking you 🙏🏼 all for joining this community, contributing your knowledge, and sharing your stories. We are so inspired by you and overjoyed to find so many women like us, who belong to the same tribe. Please feel free to add your like-minded girlfriends to the group. Thank you again for being apart of She Hit Refresh!! 🔄🙋🏻♀️🗺✈️ #thankyou#shehitrefresh#newyear
The year is almost over! 😱 Where did you go this year that took you by surprise? Tell us about a city that you never really thought about but totally fell for once there. This is my secretly stunning city, Zagreb. I didn’t know anything about it and was just using it as a city to pass through but fell for its intimacy and charm from day one. I would defo go back. #zagreb#shehitrefresh#croatia
Jerusalem, a.k.a Al-Quds, is one of my favorites places in the world! The sounds, the scents, the history, people, and politics make it one of the most stimulating places I’ve ever been. Has anyone been? #jerusalem#shehitrefresh#alquds
